I'm pretty sure this has been suggested before, but I don't understand the purpose of the General Discussion portion of these forums...
I mean I know what general discussion is, but to me it seems like its the Hysteria Ward (and would be funny if named so!) So I was thinking, why not making it a little more organized?
For example:
Main Category: Feedback
+Sub Category 1: Website Bugs
+Sub Category 2: In game Feedback/Bugs
+Sub Category 3: Localization
+Sub Category 4: New Ideas/Suggestions
+Sub Category 5: Questions for the Devs!
Then abolish the General Discussion area of the forums, as its really not general discussion at all its A) Suggestions B) Questions to the Devs [Which both are technically types Feedback].
Then you have the next block:
Main Category: Community
+Sub Category: New Player Help
+Sub Category: Worlds
++Sub Category: World_1
+++Sub Category: Linkshell Recruitment
+++Sub Category: World Discussion (economy of the world, player run events, crafting requests, etc would go here)
You would rule out one main block and condense the forums at the same time make them more organized and easier to maintain (I would think).
Anywho, there's my suggestion, plus I think it might stimulate different attitudes by having the "Questions for the Devs!" kind of page because then what some might see as complaining turns into honest questions and we lose most of the trolling. (I would hope)
Edit:
Their should be a separate "Category" for each of the servers (like it is now). Also you could even make it where in the "Questions for the Devs" section people can only create a post and "+1/like" an existing post, restrict them from actually being able to reply to the post, they are not the Devs and hopefully that will weed out even more of the trolling.
Everyone and anyone who would like to contribute to this idea agree or disagree please feel free to comment as well, I think the forums could use a little trimming (in all aspects).
