PvP Gear

I have been a casual pvp'er and want to get into it more. My question may be silly - I have all 260 normal gear and several 205 pvp gear. With the item level sync do I just use my normal gear or still use pvp? Sorry in advance if this is a silly question

Uhm...I'll give you the short version first, then the longer explanation.

Short: Get the items with the best secondary stats (usually crit/det) above item level 190.

Long: Items are synced to the stat caps of item Level 150 gear in PvP (but the principle applies to all item level syncs). Morale increases the item level (and thus stats) of the item it is on by its number - 30 morale, 30 item level. That is before the sync however, even if your gear gets boosted above 150 via morale, it'll be synced to 150 afterwards.
Now, every item has a dominant (higher) and a subordinate (lower) secondary stat. The dominant typically is at the cap for the respective item level, the subordinate is not. Thus, by increasing your item level above 150, you can increase the subordinate stat of your item while synced (thus gaining more stats overall). This evens out to the stat caps of 150 at around iLvL 190.
The stats you want depend on your job.

For all dps jobs (except BLM) and tanks try to stack crits and determination with a few crits+accuracy accessories. This may require a number of duties to farm, from 195 dungeons to Void Ark to Alexander Midas, mixed with a few i180/205 PvP pieces.
For a healer, it depends on your preferences, but Piety is probably the most important secondary stat for them (no MP left usually results in someone death(s) and lose), and the second can be spell speed (fully stacked give around 0.1s GCD reducion) for a bit faster casts or crits if you want less casts.

Unless you are trying to min max your damage your 260 will be completely fine.
