Looking for Well Populated Pacific Coast Server

Hello,

My current FFXIV server seems to be a timezone or two off from my normal play hours.
I'm currently looking to transfer to a server that is a much better match for my game play hours.

Can anyone recommend a server that is majority pacific coast players and that is preferably a legacy server?

The servers don't have specific time zones on them, they are only broken down by North American, Europe or Japan. Seems that you're on Excalibur, of the Primal Data Center, which is already an NA server. NA servers would have people from all time zones on them.

Perhaps try to look in the server specific forums to find an FC with people in your time zone? I'm on Behemoth (also Primal) and it's always active in PST, so I can't think why Excalibur would be different.

Also, no idea why you would need a legacy server.

Being Dutch I play on Lich which is a European server. That being said, we also have folks from the US, Japan and Australia in our FC.
There are no servers for a specific timezone. And it shows. There are always people online on my server (and FC).

There's nothing 'magic' about legacy servers, they existed as a place where V1 players were initially forced to play due to their vast wealth which needed a separate economy from those servers where new players started to play.

If you want to play 'NA time' you'll need to use Hyperion.

I am basically on PST time due to work and Balmung is usually pretty active until late at night probably that or Gilgamesh is your best bet as there is no specific PST server I know of but Balmung and Gilgamesh have the highest NA population

I used to be on Sargatanas and it was a ghost town late at night.

@ruby, Legacy servers are usually the most populated servers and have old-timers from 1.0 from what I could gather.
Personally I don't think Gilgamesh is that populated, most actually transferred to Leviathan or Balmung. I'm not sure how active Balmung is but from what I have heard and read, it's very active and highly populated (maybe the biggest server of all JP/NA/EU?).

That may have been true in the past, but there's really no difference between the two now, thanks to server transfers. Plenty of people from 1.0 on all servers now.

I had a notion that my legacy account had to use a legacy server... This must not be so.
Yes I am on Excalibur and it is a NA server although activity really drops off around 7pm PST. Seems the more active hours are early afternoon about 3 hours before I get off work.

I'm going to take all your advice on the servers mentioned and make a few characters on them to see what populations are like.
