lol...what?
The whole contagious rules system can simply be left out of the equation. It's not like the game has to be copied exactly from FFVIII.Besides, TM was better in terms of playability, TT had too many factors (contagious rules) that ruined a good concept. In an MMO you can have groups of players purposefully making 1 rule present that benefits them in every encounter, this is why they went with TM for XI, it's just a shame they never went through with the in-game portion of it.
VIII wasn't one of the popular FF games in comparison to many others, that's why it wouldn't drive up popularity, why do you think they went with a 'materia' system rather than 'junction' system? It doesn't mean VIII was a bad game, just means in comparison to the other FF games, it wasn't that popular that seeing Triple Triad added won't cause people to join in droves lol.
That's why I said the only real issue with it was the contagious rule system, that's really the only thing that make for a bad implementation of it since in an MMO environment you have to allow every player to have an effect on something.
YES PLEASE! Reading these responses actually has me legit excited...
Would be cool if we had a seperate inventory for cards though, wouldn't want them cluttering up the regular inventory.
Also, give us a chance of a primal card after beating them. That way we're not seeing dark matter every single time too. Even people who don't care about Triple Triad/Tetra Master shouldn't be opposed to this as I'm sure most people have many stacks of dark matter at this point.
Spread this thread around, get it even more likes and hopefully we'll get attention of devs. :P

+1 please add this, and please, please, please have it in game and not like TM in XI. This would go SOOOOOOO far to make the downtime more fun while looking that 8th party member for Cutter's Cry, for example.
Yay!

I would do anything to have this! and I do mean anything....
Pretty please SE keep the best final fantasy card game ever alive.
i could still see some government agency try to ban it because there is a gil selling market so they'd want to consider in game currency the same as poker chips. i know it sounds far fetched, but never put anything past the government. You're right, but only when it comes to ACTUAL money. Using Gil, a virtual currency in a virtual world, doesn't fall into that.
As far as rare and powerful cards, you can make a four-fold system. When you defeat a powerful NM, like Ifrit for example, you can get his card. With his card, you can:
-Use it in a game of Triple Triad
-Trade it for a unique Ifrit item (Weapon)
-Refine it into a powerful crafting item. A Tier V materia of your choosing.
