The way I see it being described is it actually has two mainhand weapons that it uses and swaps between depending on the style being used at a given moment.

While it is a novel idea, I just want to remind you that they (FFXIV dev team) would literally never hear the end of it if they released a Samurai Tank Job that does not use Katanas in their primary tanking stance. There would be RIOTS. It'd be like releasing Dragoon as a job that primarily equips Swords.

I was merely explaining how I saw it being said there.
