Erm sorry but this is just as bad of a suggestion.
you don't need the best gear in the game if you aren't a raider
Then go raid and get your gear? Also you are obviously new and have zero idea how the patch cycles work. The odd numbered patches are the "catch up" patches that allow people to get i270 gear without the need of raiding. Do some research before posting nonsense please
Couldn't agree more with you on this one we need both, as for the raiding scene it's been a lot higher this patch then any other yeah it's easier then say Gordias and Midas but it's enjoyable and accessible for anyone to jump in and do it. SE needs to use this as a base to continue on into Stormsblood then ramp it back up to where it was with previous raid tiers I myself as a raider didn't enjoy Gordias that much just to the sheer clunkiness and how the fights were made but that's just me I can't speak for the whole community.
With that being said though i've talked and helped many people with Creator savage and they really enjoy it and want to continue with the raid scene which makes me happy.
If anything needs to die in 4.0, it's the process of having to upgrade gear to dye it; especially because the time in between the release of the gear itself and the means in which to dye it often come months apart. Honestly, I think you should be able to dye dungeon, 24-man, and normal raid gear too while we're at it.
It has always seemed odd to me that there's all this cool gear floating around that people want to wear, but don't because they don't like the color scheme. Instead of just giving us the ability to dye it, SE just sorta shrugs in our direction and we all go back to wearing whatever outfits we already came up with. Feels like a bit of a waste.
Nah leave raids where they are ohterwise all the crafter would cry how they can't sell the newest battle gear for millions of gil anymore
1) We're having that too (upgraded tomestone gear, we'll only get the upgrades later - also: i260 can be better due to secondary stats, same goes for crafted&melded gear)Blizzard managed to add another way of obtaining gear that is on par with raid gear through keystone dungeons in Legion. Personally i enjoyed them alot more than the current tier of raiding and higher keystones are no means easy (lvl 10 and up)
I understand where OP is coming from with having more options but then the optional way of getting gear should not be any easier than the hardest raid content in the game at the time.
2) What do you need that gear for when not raiding? And if you're raiding you're getting the gear from it...
3) OP is coming from a level 25 conjurer it seems - so either this is an alt, a troll (most likely) or someone who would buy the jump potion... and then stand in idleshire complaining no one wants to carry them through content
Raiding is a thing that is NOT going away. That being said, asking né demanding other types of content that is rewarding for non 8 man groups is not something to scoff at. FFXI thrived for many years because it separated is end game into many different aspects and didn't place them all in a single basket. Even WoW has done this over the years and has taken further steps with the release of Legion.
We got more separate content in 3.x with Aquapolis, Diadem, and Palace of the Dead. We KNOW we are getting something that is hopefully challenging solo/small group content with the addition of Eureka.
But also if you are raiding then you don't need the best gear either. Because you've already cleared the raid before you get the gear... so what do raiders need the best gear for?
This is part of the problem with the current progression system.
just wish raiding was more meaningful and worthwhile personally. but I wish the same thing with all the games content
