People don't know how to take criticism anymore, and bad play is rewarded with with a coddling mentality. Yes, this is a casual game for the most part - that doesn't mean people need to walk on eggshells in fear of getting reported for pointing out things. This whole 'please don't say anything even slightly negative' mentality that we seem to be going towards and the devs seemingly pushing towards it is creating a disturbing trend.
Don't need a potion, just hit the spacebar.

Honestly, I think that the jump potion should cost about £50 billion for every single level or every single quest you pay to skip. So 10 levels = £500 billion. Simply put, if you pay to skip, then you've lined up Square Enix's pockets for months!
White Mage ~ Scholar ~ PaladinBoi if you got kicked for the same thing in over 20 duties I strongly suggest you think hard on whatever the hell it is you're doing
As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.
Ok, now tell us how you really feel.

How I really feel, that they shouldn't exist. Given how intricate the story is in FFXIV and how it is the mainstay of progression in this game (unlike WoW where the story is just... there, but it doesn't envelop your character's progression), a story jump potion wouldn't work, and by its nature nor would a level skip. That's my thoughts anyway.

There's no situation were it won't work if you take a look at every side of the coin. Now if you're basing pure on lore than I do agree the potion would not make any sense, but going by that logic, fantasia as an example makes even less sense. With that said tho, and I don't want to argue with you about your feelings, some people do not care about the story of the game. How I really feel, that they shouldn't exist. Most of the times people join games that are "hot" or "new" on the market knowing that it has a decent and active player base compared to much older games or f2p titles. Others just joined because their friends asked them too and all they want to do is, being part of the endgame (don't need story/lore for that one). Anyways it's fine to have an opinion and nothing wrong with that, but that goes for both sides.

I don't think PaladinLeeds was talking about potion lore, I think they were talking about new players skipping 90% of the story in this story heavy game and then going into the final 10% having no clue what an ascian or a garlean is. What happens when the devs have to dumb the story down to cater for people who don't know the story? (Don't say they won't, because they have already broken many promises to cater to the lowest common denominator, jump potion included)There's no situation were it won't work if you take a look at every side of the coin. Unless your someone like me who has been skipping the story since Shiva was introduced cus I could care less about the story. I play cus its fun, not because I want to see how Alphinaud and Minfillia are doing and hoping they strive to do whatever they do.How I really feel, that they shouldn't exist. That's actually further than I'd suspect. I'd wager there's quite a large number of people skipping everything since they started.

When I was a new player, I began to skip somewhere between Titan and Garuda. For me, it wasn't that the story was bad, it was just that there was way to much dialogue. Like there's other things I wanna be doing, and it took 2-4mins each and every single time a cutscene came up to get through it only to be greeted with another cutscene soon after. If the game had voice acting for these cutscenes, it wouldn't have been so bad, but eventually I felt like I was reading a book more than I was playing a game and that bored me. I skipped all the Cutscenes up to Heaven's Ward which was when I began to read/watch them again because of increase vocal scenes. Admittedly, the skipping was mostly out of laziness on my part. I just didn't wanna be bothered to read, and trust me, there's a lot to read. I often get be little'd by other people when I tell them about this. "It doesn't take that much effort to read. A 5th grader could do this" blah blah blah. The game may be a Final Fantasy which revolves around story, but I came to this game for the combat, and the socialness. If I want to know the story, I can read a summary about it on a wiki online. Especially, when considering people encourage you to skip CS and watch them in your Inn room later anyway. I always felt the story was more of a bonus for playing, rather than the soul reason to play.
