The main reason for that was as soon as the "Final Save" was done players saw no point in continuing to play. Anything they did after that point would not carry into arr and thus there was no reason to play it.Before you pass judgement, SE themselves even trialled a 'restored' 1.0 service running concurrent with ARR after the original shutdown in the last few months of 2012, it was fully dependent on player numbers, which, sadly due to the ARR Alpha Test running at that time.... barely saw any use at all, and SE terminated it for good on December 31st 2012. Which is a shame, as Yoshi himself said that the game could continue "more or less indefinitely" if there was enough interest. Player numbers in that brief time though... saw to it otherwise. And I'm pretty sure this has dissuaded SE from any further attempts to restore 1.0 in any form sadly.
1.0 was bad so my answer is no if u want to play 1.0 go ahead you can play it still you just have to use google.
would be nice to get something like a 4 player arpg like monster hunter set in eorzea
go run around in an endless circle in the black shroud without changing zones. that should give you a feel for some of the atrocities that were 1.0; I had built a computer just to play FFXIV so fortunately, I didn't have to deal with some of the stuff other folk did.. but I can only imagine what that was like
Server: Sargatanas || Main Job: Scholar || Chocobo: Bonchon
For me, any way to experience 1.0 would work. I wanted to play it so badly, but my computer at the time could barely run Ragnarok Online, let alone FF. So there I sat, waiting and waiting for the PS3 release that never happened. And then boom, 1.0 died.
I remember being so hyped for 1.0. Then I read an article that detailed the xp system. That was the most ridiculously arrogant game design idea I've ever heard up to that point and since. I crossed that game off my buy list within seconds. I don't know much more about the atrocities when the game actually launched and the poor souls that played it, but the bits and pieces I did hear about over time were so BAD. It was definitely one of those "I just totally dodged a bullet" moments for me. Do not attempt to mention 1.0 ever again. Like, ever. lol
I'd buy it.
I would like it if they just added all the 1.0 cutscenes to the Unending, also polish it up by adding 2.0+ changes to the videos.
Hamlet.... not sure if I genuinely liked hamlet, or convinced myself that I liked it because I had to do it SOOO much.
So you preferred the leve grinding parties? You had to hope you had the right leves, or nobody would play with you! Dunesfolk for dinner or NOTHING! I actually do miss this, it was craziness!
While I have lots of fun memories from 1.0, and I understand people's want to experience it, I think it is time to let it go. It's been gone for a long time, if you REALLY need it that bad, you're going to have to settle for YouTube or live vicariously through 1.0 players stories.
