Upgrade Apartment Size (Housing Idea)

Hey there! I was a little disappointed apartments ended up being the same size as FC private rooms. I wonder if apartments could be improved upon by allowing players to upgrade the size by paying the NPC additional gil?

For example: a stage 2 upgrade for 300k expands the allowable item slots and adds an additional space, and a stage 3 upgrade for 500k adds a loft and an additional room.

Would this be possible?

I think apartment upgrades would be a decent gil sink and it would alleviate some of the issues people have with the housing system.

The vegas live letter mentioned they'd be looking into apartment adjustments/upgrades (balconies, rooftop hangout, etc) sometime after 4.0 launches. Went to go check for the exact spot on the stream where they mentioned it but twitch isn't loading feeds for me now. Hopefully they'll have some size adjustments coming as well.

Yeah it's kind of frustrating that an apartment is more expensive than an FC room but the same size. I'd kill for a balcony so I can use SOME of the outdoor furnishings.

But like... why? Housing has enough problems. The entire system is an abomination that they've done little to fix or make better in multiple years - there are tons of people running around who own 20+ houses on a server while others can get nothing unless they're willing to break tos and spend 20x the value.

If apartments weren't complete and total garbage maybe it would help slightly.

I'd be happy with a garden patch... was the only reason I kept my house for so long.
