They should limit one per customer.

They should just change the definition of new player. Make new player status dependant on the amount of content that has been completed. I.e. You do 200ish dungeons/raids/trials to have the green sprout removed when you log in. If players can just jump straight past heavensward, they should still be treated like new players.

Here's a solution ... should be appreciated by $E if this is nothing but a cash grab :

Jump potion instantly takes you to completeion of whatever patch is current, all the best raid gear + Relic, all classes/jobs at 60 .. and costs $1,000 US. Because, the issue isn't the price, its having to do all the content.

    These are my thoughts.

The story skip potion should come free with the expansion. You should be able to automatically skip the main scenario of at least ARR for free upon purchasing Stormblood.

The job skip potion should only be available to a new service account. Eg, if you have no jobs at 50 yet, you can use the potion. As soon as you have a job at 50, any job, you can no longer use the potion no matter what potion it is (such as, if you have WHM at 50, you cannot use the potion on your GLA).

I do not want jump potions for either the story or job levels, but if they absolutely must be added, I think it would be best if they could only be used if you have already cleared the story once on some character on the account for the story potion, and you can only use that job's potion if you have already fully leveled up that job on some character on the account for the job potion. Yes, this prevents new players from getting into the game and just jump skipping to the end, and that's the point. Jump potions, for the NA region, should only be used for when you want to make an alt, even if on another server, to play with other people and you don't want to transfer your main. Forcing players to go through the story at least once and level whatever job they want to jump with to max at least once will be the most healthy for the game in our region, in my opinion.

What does this actually promote in regards to the health of the game in our region? Just curious.

    It promotes nothing.

The MSQ teaches the player nothing about how to play their class , even most of the Class/JOB quests fail to teach the player on how to play their Class/JOB beyond the basic stuff. I dont like the jump potion, the idea that someone can basicly pay to reach level 60 with all the current classes (minus SB and maybe DoH, DoL classes), makes me fear for the future of FFXIV. I do understand that the game needs it, because doing this way will make SE more money while they spend less resources then if they were to change the ARR and HW Quests.

Still, can we please stop saying that the MSQ or JOB quests teaches the players on how to play properly. You know what teaches the players to play properly, the players themselves and the community. The player himself/herself must want to bring their A-game and the community must be more helpful when it comes to guiding newcomers. At the end of the day, if Bob or Janet do not want to read the what their skills does or do not want to play properly, then nobody can help them, we can shout, we can insult them or kick them, if they do not want to change, they will not improve.

Personaly, I think they should introduce the JUMP Potion, but force the players to do the story dungeons, this will teach them more then the MSQ or JOB quest and lets not forget just, because You and I like the storyline and want to read everything, does not mean BoB or Janet like to do the same. If newcomers want to rob the enjoyment of doing the MSQ or JOB quests from themselves, then that is their choice, what they know or not know about the MSQ will not affect you.

I actually liked the way Blade & Soul gave you new abilities. It actually told you where abilities go in a rotation, how they should be used and actually made you practice a few times first before giving you them.

It wouldn't make bad players much better and it's mostly stuff you can find out by just reading the tooltips but it's better than say just dumping Enochian on you and expecting you to use it properly.

This defeats the entire point of a skip potion. Most people don't even bother with a second character due to us having every job on one. They want to skip the enormous grind either to play with friends or because they simply find the MSQ boring. Forcing players through the MSQ accomplishes nothing. It doesn't teach you anything worthless and someone who doesn't give a damn about the story or lore is just going to skip every cut scene anyway.
