I don't think it'll be a tank, pretty sure I recall Yoshi P saying he'd prefer SAM to be a dps. No source though so don't quote me on it.

I can't picture SAM as tank given the role in previous FF games, that would just be weird...although do we really need, yet, another melee dps?

All that's left is flavour, which additional classes/races tend to bring moreso than actual necessity to a paradigm.

Saying he would like vs doing is 2 difference things.

I just see a ton of other dps jobs they could pick from because the tank picking is from a very small list.

Drk and pld = same with different res
War and ?? = power house dps tanks

So whatever job they pick for tank would make sense to be a high dps tank.

I'm pretty sure that his foresight to adding SAM and his concept as a director deserves a little more credit than whimsically tossing it aside.

We don't need another tank sam has never been a tank, blade grasp is basically featherfoot, we need another light armor dps that would share gear with drg, so monk and nin can share gear again.

We better have a new tank in 4.0 or the queues are liable to become nightmarishly long for non tanks.

Just think back to 3.0. We had basically a month of dps being getting the adventurers bonus from roulettes when DRK came out and almost instant queues for dps. Without a new tank its going to be the NIN release all over again.

I believe we will get 1 tank 1 healer 1 dps

They said they wouldn't did what they did for ninja again.
Meaning we would have to wait into 3.0 4.0 5.0 to get new jobs vs something like 3.5 4.25 4.7. They would wait into a dlc come out to release new jobs.

Oh I meant Duty Queue times. When NIN came out the queue times for dps on duties went through the roof.

I know that why I believe they will give use 1 of each job because I believe we would have to wait into 5.0 for any new jobs after 4.0
