Tomorrow starts fanfest and I hope we get Samurai tank,but yes most likely it will be another red mage clue or showcase x.x;; or dancer (why not bring more slots to DPS really, not like we have enough of those, sarcasm). If the expansion won't give a tank, mark my words: this will have a bad after taste for ppl who love to tank but just want variety.

RDM will be fully announced tonight, it's role and playstyle will be vaguely detailed like they did with DRK.
They might mix it up and announce another job but I doubt it, we'll for sure get another tease though!

I also doubt we won't get a new tank in 4.0. There is a reason why every new class in WoW has had a Tank spec.

I'm from EU but pls oh pls do not let the new tank class be a Viking or something, I really want something from the far East lol. Btw if u look at the glamour, you already see a lot of sets that are samurai like. Even with some events samurai was hinted a lot, but ya I'm gonna watch the niconico stream:3

I can't see Viking fitting the theme of Stormblood tbh. Well with the little details we have on it anyways, from what we know is that its a really colourful theme and the music in the cinematic was very oriental. heavenwards had a very dark medieval look with its soundtrack and visuals so DRK and MCH fitted the bill very well. I cant see Viking fitting an oriental and colourful expansion.

Not sure I'd describe it as "oriental", but yeah, definitely not something to introduce a job like Viking on.

As for a potential Stormblood tank, it would either be Samurai or Red Mage (yes, that could happen too). It would also require a unique, yet practical tanking feature, which is a lot harder to pull off on Samurai since I think most of that work went right into Dark Knight.

Again, all I can hope for Samurai is that it doesn't come with that bland, overused armored shogun look. Maybe something like the Parivir/Yojimbo from FFTA2.

I would also have to disagree I think the robe look is a lot more overused then Armored Samurai. But not in Final Fantasy, so you have a point.
Regardless I would prefer Armored Samurai Tank or DPS using Fending or Maiming respectively, but that's just my opinion and you have yours.

Who knows, maybe we'll find out tonight, like a previous user mentioned they announced 2 jobs in the last JP fanfest so maybe they'll do the same this year, although I think they announced 2 jobs because it was the last fanfest and not because it was JP's, although it wouldn't surprise me if it was due to the fact it was a JP fanfest and they wanted as much hype for their JP fans because reasons.
Anyways I think either your or my opinion can be right so we'll just have to wait and see!

Eh, its less we expect Viking to be released this expansion, just having idea chats about how it could be a tank and still play nice with the fact WAR took a lot of Viking's visual identity. I don't think anyone is expecting Viking for stormblood but I also don't think they would drop both SAM and RDM in the same expansion. SAM would fit much better for when we eventually head for Doma.

Also if we're wantin' SAM gear...can I have FFX Yojimbo's gear? Plz? PLZ?!

I really just want the hat. And maybe the sword too.

I don't think we'll be visiting Doma in a long time... If we even are it wont be for a while most likely, who knows though.
SAM would fit the theme of Ala Mhigo in the sense that SAM are probably Doma's elite soldiers and don't want to see Ala Mhigo perish the same way their city did. Therefore lending their aid and training to the cause, at least that's how I visualise it.

+ speculation is fun and ik why people want Viking. I was just answering a question the OP asked and input my opinion.

I actually expect Judge Master to be a Melee DPS if it ever get released into FF14 mostly because the establish iconic image of Judge Master is Gabranth and Judge Master's iconic LB is Execution.

Of course they'll probably adjust Execution to be a single target LB3 but heck people will love using Execution to finish off a boss.
