this is true when they put the ninja in, as it was the only new job to be added in the patch, but for hw it was not true.oh god I can already see it if Samurai is added as DPS everyone will switch to it
>all fate parties, raid parties and trial parties will all be samurai dps.
>No queues will ever pop because everyone will be sitting in dps que as samurai
>Idyllshire will have samurai as far as the eye can see,all future content wont be completed due to the lack of tanks and healers because Samurai.
>Adding in new classes wont matter because Samurai
/joke
Lets just hope 4.0 tank job can match the Samurai hype
but the converns about DF i agree with defo!
You just opened a whole can of worms op
Maybe they can RP as a tank Samurai. I mean... if we already have people who RP as Ice BLMs and Unholy WHMs who only do DPS, then why not? ..../sar
For all we know, we could be getting Beast Master as our next tank. Right now everything is all in speculation.

It's too late to change it now, unless you want the expansion delayed.
I know that I'm not the only one that wants Samurai as a TANK class, there are many people out there that prefer the tank class. If red mage is gonna be DPS, DPS has two sword wielding classes: Ninja and Red Mage so your argument is invalid. Why does the ques take long for DPS? Because tanking is not the favorite role while queuing as a Tank is instant que in duty finder plus bonus. Mr. Yoshida I can wait a few extra months for samurai If it will be a tank class. Monk already is excluded from most raids, why making them even more excluded with adding more classes to the DPS tier? All I want is fairness, give us an Asian oriented Tank Class, DPS already has 2: Ninja and Monk. In an interview you mentioned the samurai that might go Tank, may be a Shogun type: don't do that either, make it an over the edge type of offensive tank class like Warrior. This will also balance out the tank tier list: PLD/DRK= Main Tank WAR/Samurai= Off Tank! (ಠ o ಠ)¤=[]:::::>
We don't even know if red mage is confirmed, though myself and many are pretty sure it might as well be confirmed. We also have no clue as to how it'll play at this point in time. I wouldn't label daggers as swords either, even if ninja tend to use some rather long daggers. It doesn't make my statement invalid and not worth considering. I also don't see why queue length have any relevance to hoping a class's role is one way or another. As for raids, can't base it on what close-minded people believe are best or not. Regardless, even if it was a tank, most raids would end up taking whatever two jobs will push out the most DPS. If it would end up being SAM/WAR with WAR still doing the most damage, SAM will end up MTing.
Still, we have no idea if SE has any intentions to bring samurai into the world of FFXIV currently.
i am thinking about a samurai tank with a Kanabo as weapon. samurai, tank, another blunt weapon to increase monk's utility (monk's can lower the blunt resistance of enemys). then it's not even a second two hander sword tank...
but yeah... a samurai without a katana? why even bother implementing? xD
As far as I know the community wants SAM not to be a tank. It's okay to say that's what you want and what you feel is right but speaking for the community like that as if the majority wants tank SAM is simply not the truth.
This
and this.
I want Samurai to be a dps.
What you're not taking into account is that DPS generally dont use healing spells at all. However, healers do use DPS skills. It would make the most sense if Red Mage became a healer. That way it can use both black and white magic.
