@Naoki Yoshida-> Make Samurai a Tank class!

So to make it fair, it would be nice to see an Asian class being a Tank. I mean, we have Ninja who takes the role of a DPS, would be nice to see Samurai added to the Tank tier list in 4.0, thoughts? I mean to be fair, we got a lot of DPS classes as it is and Red Mage is 99% confirmed if you notice the obvious hints of Naoki Yoshida so another DPS class.. Naoki Yoshida, ik you listen to the community so hope you consider Samurai becoming a Tank class!

I'd ask for it to not be a tank. The 2-handed sword wielding class is already a tank, there really doesn't need to be a second one. There's not even a sword wielding DPS class yet.

Katana and Wakizashi bring it on! I honestly think Zenos is a little hint to the weapon of SAM minus the Revolver scabbard, although that would be sick

Visions of SAM wearing this make me cringe. Besides, SAM would make the perfect DPS to share medium weight Maiming gear with DRG.

I love when people try to bring this up as if it's any kind of reasonable argument against SAM's being tanks. I mean, for starters, this didn't stop SE from putting SAM in FFXI



I mean, I don't see you making a complaint thread because monks and ninjas wear such iconic and thematically fitting gear like this in FFXIV:






Then the hilarity that you go on to say they'd be perfect in DRG gear is just the wonderful icing on the cake of your ridiculous argument. Cause DRG gear is so much better.




That's not even touching the fact that the vast majority of DRG gear, especially Heavensward gear, shares it's appearance with Fending sets. So if tank gear is too "cringey" for SAM to wear, then so is DRG gear.

1: that's what people said about nin...do you see lots of nins, around, nowdays? no?
2: unless you do PotD, where it doesn't matter what job you are. also lv 70, so ppl will want to cap their mains, first.
3: Idyllshire will be as populated as Mor Dhona post-HW release=not at all.
4: ppl who like to tank, will still tank. ppl who like to heal, will still heal. not everyone is interested in SAM, and will level their heal/tank mains to 70 before possibly trying SAM...possibly...after RDM/etc
5: there seems to be plenty of cheers for RDM too, and ppl can't even distinguish a dancer from monk, because dancer.

It would be great and puts the game right back were it have and should been. If someone remembers the good old 2.x times, everybody and their mother played a dps, however the tanks you could find via pf/df at least knew how to play the class and actually were proud to be a tank.

Most of these amazing old timers switching to dps/heals nowadays because everybody and their dog/cat playing WAR/DRK and at least 80% have no idea how to play that class, making duties or simple farming a nightmare. I would love to see samurai become a dps, because I think we should make tanks or tanking in general great again
