Vesper Bay Aetheryte?

Unfortunately, I have to say no this idea. Because the story shows why this isn't the case... if they add an Aetheryte here, they basically retcon part of the story... And you only need to look at Sonic 06 to see why retconning the story is a bad idea (ok admittedly with Sonic 06 it was a multifaceted set of issues, but the story also got slammed too)

Well, nearly every players irritation seems to be brought about by the lore so a job well done by the writers... but I could totally dig a direct aetheryte to Waking Sands upon MSQ completion.

Even for the laziest of people there's already a Chocobo Porter that will take you there directly while you afk from Horizon.

I agree with those saying no due to lore reasons.

I usually teleport to Ul'dah and catch a chocobo porter for 15 gil, though. The three minutes the ride takes is a great time for a bathroom break, or to grab a snack or something.

You do realise that the waking sands becomes almost useless after MSQ completion right? The reason they moved the base was to be next to an aetheryte

There's still quests there as you progress Heavensward, and occasionally trips for unlocking other bonus dungeons in case you decided to skip Qarn and Halatali. The area isn't 100% useless after all.

Maybe later in the MSQ once Lolorito realizes the Scions have left and will not come back.

Urianger is still there mantaining the glamour thingy to make it look like Scions are still there, as far as I can remember

I'm pretty sure he put the statue there to spite them since they refused to be his pets.
