You should know by now how distraught I was when the "simple" battle system was announced. Well, after giving it a lot of thought and reading others opinions, I can see something VERY good come out of this.

Let's say you decide to cast Blizzard and I decide to cast Aero in the time interval allotted; we would be able to perform some deadly concoction that might add slow as an effect. Hell, you can cast both spells yourself for the added effect.

Instead of relying on procs to mitigate movement, you could add some REAL depth to the game. This would make Mages A LOT more fun and extremely interesting.

The current spell combos only add extra damage and the debuffs are tied to procs. You should remove the procs from spells and add more complex spell combos. You could also make gear that makes your spell concoctions more successful, allowing the debuff to take effect.

I know they are going to add skillchains at a later date and perhaps the system being implemented is just something to keep the current demographic, occupied. What ever the case is, there is definitely potential in the system you have introduced, but it is too simplistic. At least in my opinion anyway.

What are your thoughts guys? I know I'm always flailing the mace around, but I'm seeing something REAL fun with this.
