Why is there ANY RNG involved in this? It should be simple: clear the dungeon, get your choice of one token and done. Instead, we get 4 drops for 8 people. Just a giant F U from SE.

16 A9 runs since yesterday, and my best "roll" was a 34. It's crap like this that makes people rage quit.

    Solution: Do more savage. \o/

Thank the stars you're able to run the content until you get a drop. EVENTUALLY, YOU WILL GET A DROP. As quickly as 1 token for an accessory, 2 tokens for jewely, 2 weeks for pants (4 tokens from a11/12) or 4 weeks for a shaft (4 tokens from a12.)

Imagine your frustation if for a belt:
6 weeks of clearing content if a belt does not drop (You get 1 Page=token every week you clear it,) You can step in again with someone who hasn't cleared this week, a belt drop and be UNABLE TO ROLL, even though you never got an actual drop this week.

    .....

I'm still using a 250 hat/boots IN ABSOLUTE FEAR THAT ONE WILL DROP AND I WILL HAVE WASTED 1.5-3 GOBCOATS WORTH OF PAGES. (Currently at 10 pages. Need 4 pages per gobcoat, drops cost 6 each. Need 12 to get both.)

So yeah. Be thankful you can keep going and going to get the drops you want on easy content.

The doctor says you'll need to take these 2 pills a day until your symptoms subside. Oh the other guy? Chemotherapy for 6 months.

Of which you need 4 - and each is weekly locked.

Drops are random, too, so have fun getting DRG stuff when your group has no DRG.

Oh, and you can't do Savage floors out of order either, because entering a later floor counts the previous ones as cleared and loot received.

Regular raid loot can be fixed by simply making a premade - at worst, you'll have to clear 8 times if everyone wants a bolt and only one bolt drops each time. Savage just sucks completely.

The salt on savage is real!...petty...

Lol, so one is afraid of RNG because using their tokens to buy an upgrade which could drop in the subsequent weeks and go to someone else...as an upgrade? Ok.

The other says RNG can drop gear that does not pertain to your groups current composition...but could be an upgrade for a side job...riiiiiight...

If your clearing that's all there is to it, if it's an upgrade, just get it if it helps progression...I don't understand this randomophobia. I've seen a dark weapon which is being used, a smn book which is being used, WHM cane that's being used, and unused blm and 2 pld weapon drops...though they are fun upgrade for those who got them...people need more "grats" in their life lol

If you really have trouble understanding why people are not fond of the idea of their effort randomly being rewarded with something they care for or something they don't, please go to your workplace and ask your boss to roll a dice on whether you get paid your salary at the end of the month or something else you really couldn't care less about of equal value instead - for example, real estate stocks in a foreign country or a lifelong subscription to a magazine or something like that, depends on what is of equal value to your salary. Of course, without re-selling option.

If, after a year, you still don't get why people don't like randomness in rewards, well...nothing to be said. To each their own. But I'm sure you aren't crazy enough to accept that sort of thing IRL. Nobody ever is - Because deep inside, people know better. They just don't like to show it for some reason.

Lol, great comparison...because the two are totally relatable in both scale and impact.

If your attributing the enjoyment of this game to what equates to necessities of sustainability, it's not me with the problem lmao. Got your priorities all kinds of jacked up lol.

I don't see the issue. Sure in Savage its annoying but even there is a fix time to get stuff. In normal its fine all tomes are capped and who cares.

I mean.... it's outdated gear. If you're spending that much time running a9 over and over again for one drop couldn't you, oh i dunno, spend an hour farming mats and getting a i250 piece crafted? Shire gear is 260. I ran through normal once.. maybe twice. Didn't need any i250 gear from there because it was outdated upon release

To be fair, the other loot system they have in place for some of the trials makes more sense, where within 10 runs you either have a stab at getting your weapon drop as RNG, or turn in the 10 tokens you automatically obtained one per run. Wish they applied it everywhere else. People got other stuff to do with their time than to lose rolls to tunnel vision programming.
RNG is fine if it's done right. When you look a t the ex primal loot system it's almost perfect.

Primary source of loot is RNG with a secondary source is from tokens you get from wins. X number of tokens can be traded for an item of your choice if RNG hasn't rewarded you.

The only way the system could be better is if the tokens didn't take inventory space.

I said in another thread it's a system that should be implemented a cross all content.

Even Alex. for example Clear a9 get the RNG drops as usual. But also get a token of some form. So if you've cleared a9 X number of times and still not won your bolt or chain from RNG. You can still spend your tokens on getting one. If one you do win the roll then you can spend your tokens on something else instead just like primals. Guarantees progression so you can't lose. But you can still win.

Would work in 24 man raids as well. Keep losing the roll on the body you want. No problem if you've done it X number of times you can buy it with your tokens instead..
