Why did the server get such a low population.
Its pretty sad going to Idyll and seeing around 20 people there and 0-2 Party finders up at a time.
What happened?

Sargatanas, a usually busy server, has been super dead lately too.
I think people are burning out and either unsubbing or just not logging in anymore. I know I went from a daily log in to maybe once or twice a week since I found better, less monotonous games to play. I would love to see the numbers or subs and log ins compared to the 2.3 to 2.5 period. Usually post patch it gets busy again but even a few days after 3.3 it was back to 1-2 things in the pf with just a few extra during peak times.
- Overinflated market prices
- Large population of players with an -elitist attitude towards the game
- Consistent /tell spam
- Lack of community
- Lack of interest diversity
- Abundance of bots
Take your pick :P
i wish square would release server log ins based on accounts every month would be intresting
I haven't been playing for very long so I wasn't sure what activity should look like, but I will go whole play periods where I might not see anyone or just one other player. I just assumed it was because I'm still on starting content.
Jeez. Square should let people from really low traffic servers to transfer for a reduced price...
A lot of times in games like this one, merging servers is considered is considered a sign that the game has failed. I don't think that would be the case with FF14, though. Some servers are so stupidly populated they don't accept new characters, and apparently others are so underpopulated there are 20 people in Idyllshire.
This may sound incredibly naive, but ... is there anything those of us who are here could do to improve the place? Obviously some issues are beyond our control, but as far as aspects like community and diversity go, maybe we could work on that. I have no idea what to do, honestly, but this seems like a good chance to try and start a discussion about change, rather than the usual frustration at our lot.
And no, that was not a soapbox. I'm just a Lala who needed a platform. >_>
we've tried that and let me tell you it crashed and burned incredibly hard due to casual elitism (basically really really bad players thinking they're good and telling other what they do, creating an endless cycle of crappy people)This may sound incredibly naive, but ... is there anything those of us who are here could do to improve the place? To OP: It's always been low around this time between raid tiers/patches. Wait until 3.35 and it might kick up a bit.
