    1 star 35 durability rotation

Spent the last several hours trying to figure out if I can make a rotation that has a high HQ rate for the 1 star 35 durability mats. So far with my stats this is what I came up with. Since it was all on a theory calculator, doesn't account for things like good and excellent states or tricks of the trade usage. Looking for some feed back to see if there is anyway to help improve this formula.

Since I'm a form noob and no idea why the google docs link won't show, here is a picture the rotation: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4e...ew?usp=sharing

    Update:

So this was first attempt at going for only one ingenuity. I also zero'd out the starting quality listed. (FYI that is how much the hq titanium nugget provides the shown recipe).

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4e...ew?usp=sharing

After I noticed the amount of cp I had left over, which could in theory be turned to stuff like precise touches or BT I decided to try and push more for BB.

This one was the fruits of that labor.

Additional information regarding rotation, at 417 CP it says you will have 20 cp left at the end, however CZ is still ticking, before final progress mark will only have 12 CP. If you want to use a precise touch will need either a ToT to pop or use a BT instead of ST in final stage.
Bare minimum Craft required to do this with CSII outside of Ingen2 is 710. For the extreme or high geared stats looks like 857 craft can one shot the progress with ingen2/brand combo.

HT does leave this susceptible to RNG which can be worked out with more CP, and improving quality chance with as many hq mats as possible. I am still curious if there are better rotations, but looking at the numbers think I'm happy with this. Again any feedback and criticism is welcome.

Intuitively, the use of two Ingenuity 2 seems unusual. Hasty Touches (HTs) I always view as just there to build stacks of Inner Quiet so I don't see a need to use Ing2 on them. Could you move your progress steps (brand of Earth etc.) to where those final HTs are and eliminate an Ing2? The CP you save will let you do more Precise/Basic touches instead of Hasty ones.

Just an off the cuff thought, I haven't analyzed it in detail.

Thanks for the info! I went back to the rotation and squeezed even more out of it, will edit main post to show tweeks. And side question if anyone can tell me how to get pics from google drive/docs to show up on these forums I would appreciate it.

Hi fellow Crafter! One of my favorite parts of Crafting is TheoryCrafting (Get it?) and finding the best rotations for any kind of stats. At first glance, it looks like your rotation has a lot going on near the finisher, which isn't a bad thing, but it leaves little room to take advantage of a Good or Excellent should they pop up. 2 big pieces of advice I'd like to give you:

    1. Never leave CP left over, unless you're planning to use it for a PT should the opportunity present itself. Sometimes that leftover CP can drastically alter what is possible with the rotation, so keep trying new things until you're satisfied.

    2. If you're cutting it close with a Comfort Zone, make sure you won't have more than 1 stack left by the time you get to your last CP move. With a cost of 66 CP and a potential return of 80 CP (8 per stack) you would need to use at least 9 stacks (72 CP refreshed) for it to be worth using. This relates to your rotation because on your last CP step (Byregot's) you still have 2 stacks of CZ, and the only remaining move (CS II) doesn't require CP, so anything refreshed afterwards is wasted. This means that you spent 66 CP on CZ, and by the time you're on your last CP move you've only used 8 CZ stacks and refreshed 64 CP. Using the second CZ has actually lost you 2 CP.

Keep in mind, these are only suggestions, and they barely scratch the surface on optimizing rotations, so use whatever you're most comfortable with. As a parting gift, I whipped up a rotation using your stats that I think you might like (I just use Imgur and the Direct Link function):

That is a lot better than the one I was using, and checking the rotation, if I can get a ToT in there and use a PT in place of a HT then looks like I can push it to almost full quality. FC member wanted me to add more touches to my current rotation, seems that extra touch makes a difference. Will have to try it out tonight.

Relatively new, theoretically two-star capable, crafter, completely intimidated by trying my first two-star synth. Was hoping to try some of these 1-star specialists mats to practice on the two-star non-favor mat sky-pirate synths. Still not sure I'm finding the right approach for building a rotation -- the ones on Caimine's site all show much, much higher stats that the melded-white reach.

It looks like Sollux's syggestion above should work for me, will need to use different food (control v craft) but otherwise similar stats.

Is practicing on sky-pirate type gear a reasonable thing to do before I try my OH's tomorrow (need more crafting red scrips)

Current stats: Craft 721, Control 674, CP 396. (w/o food) Basically no melds on MH/OH, cheap melds on body, otherwise penta-melded. Planning to upgrade OH this week, bodys next week, MH the following week looks like can support 5-6 classes at that rate.

So put Sollux's rotation to the test a little bit last night with the titanium alloy nuggets. Was able to do 5/6 hq ingots. Though curious if I should risk a ToT during any of the touch phases, definitely can't do it during WN, but taking it other places seems like it would screw up the SH placement.

Astrelle, I think you kind of went the recommended way, pushing craft and cp over control. Most current rotations will probably work, and Caimie said Rath's rotation works with 718 craft. But if you want to figure stuff out without wasting your mats this site is pretty amazing. http://ffxiv.lokyst.net/ Choose "The New Beta Layout" in red at the top and you can enter your stats and bonuses from the food you are eating and can figure which works best. Though keep in mind this assumes everything hits and doesn't account for RNG factors of HT, Good/Excellent/poor, or anything else that isn't a 100% hit. But it will help you iron out your rotation.

Since I'm struggling with this kind of craft even as a crafter who can craft iLvl 250 HQ gear I'm going to resurrect this thread.

First of all there's something bothering me about Sollux' screenshot. It doesn't work, since the CP cost is miscalculated. On that screenshot you've got 379+38 CP (=417 CP), but the rotation displayed below costs 433 CP. I can do it since I've got 445 CP when eating Bouilabaisse, but it still seems odd. Also I'm having an issue with ffxiv.lokyst.net. I cannot select the Titanium Alloy Ingot from the recipe list, nor can I search for it. There's just roughly 20 recipes displayed. Is the site broken or is it just me?

Also, has anyone come up with a reliable rotation, now that we have Craftsmanship/Control around 1.000 ?

At these level of stats, we do not really need a "reliable" rotation for 35 durability stuff, the things we can make with it tend to be easily done with all NQ mats.

That said ... my rotation for 35 durability stuff if I do want HQ for some reason depends upon how many CS2's it takes to complete it. For the most part, that is one CS2, but some things (Adamantite Nuggets, Aurum Regis Nuggets, things on that level) take two.

Comfort Zone, Inner Quiet, Steady Hand 2, Waste Not, Hasty x4.
    1 CS2? Next move is another Hasty. 2 CS2's? Next move is a CS2.
Manipulation, Steady Hand 2, Waste Not, Hasty x4.
Steady Hand, Great Strides, Innovation, Byregot's Blessing, CS2.

Replace the Hasty Touches with Precise Touch should the Condition allow. Replace the later HT's with a Basic Touch if CP allows. If your stats are low enough that it takes a third CS2 to finish, then within the first Waste Not, either replace a POOR with CS2, or a NORMAL with CS2. I like to shoot for replacing the third HT, unless that one is Good/Excellent, in which case I replace the last HT. I have not had to make that modification in some time however.
