    Alc needing help.

I have my gatherer's up to 60 with mixed 180/200 gear.
No folk books unlocked at all yet, working on that, slowly.

I have my Alchemist up to 60 through leves and grabbed Master I and II, as well as a set of ironworks, no melds.
Was wondering what control / craftmanship and cp I'd have to aim for. I've heard varying numbers for if red scrips or not.
Which I'd like to get into eventually.

My other crafters are all at 50, still, for their crossclasses.

How do I start with blue crafting scrips?
Book of Aurum Regis and Dragonskin Grimoire are my only options aside from another that gives about 9 scrips per turn-in.
Are there any rotations that's generally being used?

When I get Master III through blues, how do I start with reds effectively?

Get someone to craft you a full ironworks set (mats on market board should be really cheap atleast on my server they are) and leave the red scrips out fully.

Blue scrip - go for any craft you like, especially if they have a star they are effective and spam that until you get bored for the Master III and IV books. It is a HQ craft just with the Collectible Synthesis buff up.

If you aim for 3 star or higher you will aim to get some crossclasses that are level 52 (GSM and CUL iirc).

The stats you want to aim for depends on what you want to do... iirc I have minimum 4 star stats and like 420(?) CP before food, which works out for 4 star for me.

Want to join the Eorzean Derp? Use recruitment code M482YUK on Mogstation for a free Friendship Circlet which gives bonus XP up to level 25 ^^

TC, level the other classes to 60. Outside of Culinarian, there is a lot of materials interdependency in HW recipes. Use the Moogles beast tribe, and the GC Hand ins, to supplement the crafting log and Leves. Crafting is still very much an "all or nothing" affair, and I really do not see SE changing the Specialist system around to actually allow someone to only level one or two classes, leaving the others at 0 or 15.

If you intend to do starred recipes, aim for the minimum Craftsmanship (995) and Control (955), with the most CP you can get (430). After you reach that point, try to squeeze in as much more Control as you can. For just Red and Blue Scrips, the white i150 (and lower, for accessories) HQ set, without even many melds, will be sufficient. To go higher, you will want to meld, or better yet, find someone willing to make the i190 gear for you (supplying the materials would do wonders to reduce the cost, I'm sure).

My basic thing for Scrips has always been basically to use Rapid Synthesis as much as possible. Go to one or two Careful Synthesis 2's if a second Rapid Synthesis will finish off the craft. Then just focus on Quality, ending with a Byregot's finisher. Something along the lines of :
Comfort Zone, Inner Quiet, Steady Hand 2, Rapid Synthesis (fail), Rapid Synthesis (success), Careful Sythesis 2, Precise Touch (GOOD condition), Careful Synthesis 2, Steady Hand 2, Hasty Touch, Master's Mend 2, Hasty Touch x3, Steady Hand 2, Basic Touch x2, Great Strides, Innovation, Byregot's Blessing, Careful Synthesis 2.

Obviously, that will require modification. That assumes one RS and 2 CS2's for Progress, with a third CS2 (or a second RS) finishing it. Also, Hasty Touches can be converted to Precise Touch if the Condition and CP allow it, and Basic Touch if CP allows it. If you need two RS's, and no CS2's (after two RS's one CS2 would finish it off) then obviously get those two RS's in and then just start on the Touches. If it is a low enough recipe that one RS and one CS2 get you to the point that a single additional CS2 will finish, then don't take that second CS2 and work instead on Quality. It really depends upon what GOOD/EXCELLENT Conditions you get, as well as how much Progress that a CS2 and that a RS will give you. Basically though, one successful RS will give you just over the Progress provided by two CS2's. Use that to your advantage.

Ya pretty much, but getting to 995 can be expensive if you on the low gil side, depending how much t5 materia costs though. But as Roth has said its all or nothing, level all your jobs, thats what I done, moogle give loads of xp

You can get 4-stars without melding any T5 Materia. http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/XS23

You used the 20 points from a Soul of the Crafter to get there. Try getting there without those 20 points. You'll "need" to when they remove the Specialist-Only lock from those recipes, and anyone can do them. Unless, of course, you want to be stuck only doing the ones you are Specialist for, like we all are now.

    Challenge accepted! http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/XS5G

My only lament is that I had to use the crafted Main-hand + Off-hand instead of using the Augmented versions. Another possibility is to use the FC actions for +10 Craftsmanship/Control for slightly cheaper melds, but I didn't use that for this to ensure that you always have the chance to craft 4-star items without relying on a FC.

Well, while this is nice and all I think It's way too much work to have such heavy melds on both MH and OH considering you have SIXTEEN of those if you count all the classes. And all that just to avoid tier Vs? Absolutely non-viable.

It's way better to just meld some tier Vs (which aren't even that rare anymore so no reason to be afraid of melding those), pentameld your accessories and boom, you can be 4 stars without even needing food nor having to throw a single meld on any main or off hand except a single CP4 on each to cap CP.

I never said it was viable, I wanted to show that it's possible to obtain 4-star without using any T5 materia. But since beggars want to be chosers here's my 3rd iteration that includes minimal melding of T5 materia (only 6 Craftsmanship T5 used) and the augmented Main-hand + Off-hand. Not sure why you wouldn't want to use Seafood Stew for the +50 CP but whatever.

I did not say "no food" .. I said "no Soul" because when they remove the Specialist-Only restriction from them recipes, you're not gonna have them 20 20 for five of yer 8 crafting classes.
