Unable to complete version check issune on the PS4

After the maintenance, I could not download the patch on my PS4. Anyone having this problem?

Not sure if they're still having issues, but PSN was having problems earlier. Lodestone says they're resolved now, though.
If PSN is down, you won't be able to open the PS3/PS4 client. You don't need it for gameplay, but you do need it to check the client, and download updates.

I'm getting the same thing post "PSN issues fixed" update. I was looking around online, apparently the fix is:

1. Disconnect your PS4 from the internet
2. Turn it off
3. Turn it on
4. Reconnect it to the internet
5. Launch ff14

and it should update properly. Give that a try, the post I read was that it worked for some players, and not for others.

I tried a restart and an actual off and on, and neither worked for me. The other alternative is deleting and reinstalling FF14 on your PS4 and then it should update correctly. The previous post I saw there was no SE support ever involved, so this was all that was offered. I hope the easier solution works for you guys. I'm going to try that again later, cause I'm not really interested in a reinstall.

I'll try that fix. I REALLY don't want to delete it and reinstall is like 46GB. It's weird I've never had this before in all the time I've played.

That fix didn't work so I'm guessing they're stilll having issues.

Just to be clear incase a mod sees this.

My game is going past the launcher and to the log in screen, after entering my password and clicking to enter the game it says unable to version check.

My launcher still says it's the one from November and when I check for updates on the PSN homepage it says FFXIV is fully up to date...

I was still having the error all day, even after they apparently resolved the issue.

The only way i was able to fix it myself, was to manually set up my connection and changing the DNS settings to (8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4)

When i logged in again i got the same error, except this time after i continued it began to update like normal.

Oh thanks Hyper-Melon, That looks like that prompted the update for me. Glad I don't have to re-install anything.

so i just bought ff xiv on my ps4 and i have the free trial on my current account and have been playing on the pc so how am i to add my pc account to the ps4 one i bought because the ps4 one has not linked to an account yet?

also my friend wondered if he bought the pc version could he play on ps4 with that version if the accounts where linked?

Changing the DNS like suggested worked for me too but can someone please explain why it worked and what it does changing it to that specific DNS?
