    Total lack of customer support

    I am very disappointed at my return to Eorzea. Apparently I cannot log into the servers where my characters are and customer service basically tells me the only thing that can be done is asking my bank to cancel the charge and losing my account forever. I am so deeply disappointed once again with the game and feel a fool for wasting money signing up. Since I have I have not been able to log in at all.

    Contacting customer service just has them quote the EULA at you and have them tell you even if it was out for a month they wouldn't refund you.

    Thing is, this isn't SE's fault. It would be like blaming SE for not being able to play FF14 because your ISP was down. It's amost the same thing since they are both networks that you have to go through to get to the NA data center. And in both cases, SE has no control over them.

    Sony does the same thing if you have you bank take back you sub payment. Canceling your sub because of one day of issues is kinda silly to me

    I've been signed up for one day, it doesn't work, and when you contact them they say they don't actually have to make it work. You really wouldn't want to cancel? Fault or not it obviously happened once last week too. Having a plan in place would make sense.

    No, I would look up to see if there are currently issues, which there are.... and of which none or SE's issue. These most likely a Level 3 issues that SE cannot control at all.

    I understand that would be frustrating but SE cannot control it, by canceling your account you're only punishing yourself because like customer service told you they cannot do anything about it.

    Keep in mind that SE isn't the only company messed up when Level 3 goes down. Other games and services are also affected by this. SE can't charge in and make them fix it at the snap of a finger just like you can't call your ISP to do that. Sometimes things take time.

    Maybe have some patience and see if it works out after the maintenance tonight. They may be trying to re route the NA servers so this doesn't continue to happen.

    You're not the only one that wasn't able to get online to play. A majority of the players in all the NA servers couldn't get online.

    I fail to see this as a technical support issue.

    Of course they are going to tell you they don't have to "make it work". What would you suggest they do? Build their own fiber optic network around the entire NA continent? Because that is what they would have to do. Surely, you can see how ridiculous that would be.

    When there is a major known network outage (talking generally, I don't know the extent of the current one impacting NA Datacenter access), even if they don't have to it's not unusual from game based subscription companies to make a gesture like offering free subscription days as compensation.

    There's been lag on the PS4 too, making it really hard to play. I hope this is getting fixed somehow as it's rather inconvenient at this point...
