    Please Fix Accuracy

    Accuracy has two problems.

    1. Nobody likes to miss.
    2. It doesn't get any better after hitting cap.

Nobody likes to miss, so they try to find the accuracy cap. It's annoying to guess at where it is. And even when you do find it, it doesn't help if you have any points over the cap.

Just set it like this. Just for example, say 500 Accuracy is baseline. With 500, you could hit anything. Under the effect of a Blind debuff, your accuracy goes down and you might miss. But what if it's higher than 500? Well, that's your crit. The more accurate you are, the more likely you are to crit and the harder you crit.

The Crit idea would just lead to people melding Accuracy over well like everything unless you make it so that the over accuracy isn't worth the crit rate you would have if you would have melded normal crit or maybe for every 1 point over accuaracy cap is like 0.3 to your AP.

There's rumors of the stat being revamped or scrapped in 4.0.

i guess, they could just remove accuracy, but still have the Blind debuff give a chance to miss

i got the chance to try a9s yesterday, and found out i need like 700 accuracy. so i melded a bunch of accuracy. but that sucks because, i don't need it for anything lower than savage, so it's just wasted materia slots. that's why i was thinking of how to make it better

Your worries are similar to a lot of players. They will be removing the need to meld accuracy in 4.0.

Unless they change their mind and try something else first.

Before you complain about accuracy, try being a healer in raid. Every other gear has at least some options with accuracy on it, except healers. Our gear has 0 accuracy. If you don't have the relic, then every single open meld spot needs to go into accuracy V's. That lv 250 prototype gear, yep needed to meld Accuracy V's on to it, knowing it would only last for a few weeks.

I have never hoped that a stat dies as much I hope accuracy gets shown the door in 4.0.

I like accuracy because it's one of the few things you have to actually plan around when getting gear. Other than speed thresholds for a couple jobs, every other stat is just "STACK THE GOOD ONE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE" and "avoid parry."

It's not just that nobody likes to miss, it's that missing can have pretty far reaching effects. Miss your aggro combo as tank at the start and watch the BLM be gutted despite quelling strikes. A missed autoattack does not do much, but miss a trick attack and you just cost your group 10% DPS for the next 10 seconds. Not to mention it might cost you Enochian or Greased Lightning if the timer is tight - even if the chance is low, it can lead to a pretty big DPS loss.

I can tell you right off the bat, if skill effects still applied if the ability "missed", 100% accuracy would quickly become a lot less mandatory. It would still be capped however because it would still offer the highest return up until the cap - and none after, as you have already said yourself.
It's also a bit awkward that it really only matters in EX/Savage content but even casual equipment is loaded with it.

Personally, I don't find the stat particularly good or interesting and could well do away with it - but frankly, I think every secondary stat that doesn't change your playstyle could well be done away with and if we would scratch every stat that doesn't change gameplay, we would only have two stats left:"Power" for progression and "Speed" for gameplay. At that point, you'd really have to brainstorm new ones, because it's fairly obvious that two stats are a "tad" meager.

Didn't they say they were probably getting rid of accuracy in Stormblood?

Hang in there until early summer
