slow has always been the best debuff dark has come in handy a few times, the main problem with debuffs has always been whatever the most useful debuff for any mob was always the one thing that mob was immune too.
FF 7, add effect materia + debuff materia - weapon slots, not the most useful of set ups but sometimes fun
What I have shown you is reality. What you remember, that is the illusion.
I'll admit. I have been a FF fan for many many years and I even forgot that. Good post.
Good post. I like it. I would love to see "Frog" back in the mix.
Of course, something entirely new for the FF series would be cool like a Necromancer that uses bells and a sword. Something like Garth Nix's Abhorsen series (great read).
Server: Sargatanas || Main Job: Scholar || Chocobo: Bonchon
Inb4 lolQake.
Haven't forgotten any of this.
Still, it does not make any sense in THIS Final Fantasy.
Wow, 61 people think he's right, and maybe tomorrow those are 70.
You know what? That's because the OP is right, I never said he's not.
I'm one of those 61 persons.
That's because he just said how it's been done in the past FF games, not anything about THIS game.
There is no such thing as "FF Tradition". The franchise changes with every iteration, retaining some common staples (spell names, some msuic, mounts, mobs, and common themes). The people who say that SE is defying FF tradition with XIV are speaking from a subjective point of view based on what THEY think that FF is, ignoring the fact that pretty much no two Final Fantasies are the same.
In other words, OP - while your post is concise, and I agree, I think that you should just tell the "FF Tradition-tards (most of whom don't know what the hell they're talking about)" to STFU like the rest of us do.
But why can't it be?
(please don't say omglore!)
