Sudden lag spikes and DCs on NA Data Centers?

Just starting having MAJOR lag spikes and 90k's about 5 minutes ago after entering a dungeon with a friend. Reporting from Cactuar on the Aether Data Center.

There's already a Reddit thread with others on Primal saying they're going down too...anyone else here having these issues?

Is this another DDoS attack on NA ISPs or Level3?
I'm only asking since I'm in NA, but my friend that I entered the dungeon with is playing on the same server as me, but from the UK, not the US.



EDIT: I think this is another Level3 issue. It's not my internet; my speeds are fine (still crappy, but nothing lower than what I normally see).
Did a traceroute, and started having a lot of Request Timed Out's around where I start routing through Level3 to get onto Cactuar.
50% packet loss.

Did another traceroute/ping test to an EU server; no issues; no time outs; no packet loss.
ENOUGH WITH THIS.

EDIT #2: Wondering how long it will take for a post to appear on the Lodestone about this... last time, it took several hours.
Still can't get into the game. Almost an hour later. I just wanna playyyyyy!!! T^T




EDIT #3: It's pretty much been determined at this point that the issue lies with Level3.
Bit of background: Level3 is a major Internet backbone, and most major ISPs in the US connect to SE's NA servers via Level3. Level3 starts having connectivity issues, then those who route through their servers to try and connect to FFXIV's servers will start having issues. There's nothing that SE can really do to fix this, as that's up to Level3 and their technicians, but they can at least announce that there are connectivity issues on the Lodestone for those that don't already know.

This happened back in late October/early November when Level3 got DDoS'd, and SE posted about "NA ISP connectivity issues," and while that wasn't necessarily the case (as most of the ISPs were fine, it was just Level3), just an acknowledgement that there's a problem would be nice.

EDIT #4:
Was able to reconnect to my server.
I tried logging in when I did another traceroute, and noticed that I was no longer being routed through Level3. Was a little worried at first because I was thrown into a queue, but go in, did a few actions, and I don't seem to be having any lag like I was before.

Level3 acknowledges that their Montreal servers are having issues.

I am also having trouble on Leviathan, I disconnect every 15 minutes or so.

Been having some lag on Midgardsormr and saw the disconnect symbol on me several times but haven't actually disconnected yet

Just got 90K dc'd twice in a row on Ultros while waiting for Duty Finder. Seemed to be right around when I hit the first queue spot. Now I'm back in but the duty list won't load.

I checked another game, as I said in the other thread, and that seemed to be working just fine for me. I think this is localized to just Final Fantasy XIV.

Same thing is happening to me on Diablos. My net speeds are excellent (200mps down 50 up)

Yeah, I just got bacck into the game, duty list wouldn't load, and about 5 minutes after I got in I got booted out of the game again with another 90006 Error.

When you connect to the other game's servers, do you route through Level 3 at all? I'm curious.
Every time this happens, it's usually because Level 3 is going down, whether from a cut wire or a DDoS or whatever, it always seems to point to them.
