Sudden lag spikes and DCs on NA Data Centers?

I started lagging earlier while playing and saw a bunch of people with disconnect symbols in Limsa. Figured it was a temporary thing and left the game for a bit to watch TV. I come back now, an hour later, and I get an error 2002 connection error and cannot log in :/ I remember the same play of events from the last time there was an attack. Oh well...

Yeah, this has been going on for over 2 hours now. No word from the Devs at this point which is really frustrating...

Im on Balmung and everyone is lagging out all over the server and many are being disconnected the problem started around 1:00 central time

I know it was happening to me as well on Fae'rie and Leviathan. Standard speed test show speed is where it should be for my ISP. No problems running Blizzard games currently.

Adamantoise is hit really bad too. Either i get error 2002 and can't even make it to the character selection screen before being kicked out of the launcher, or i get 90002, log in and start redballing/dcing immediately and then get kicked. When I DO manage to get on, the few people who are on are also redballing. This seems very similar to the incident at the end of October.

Ah... well I wouldn't really know how to check that for the game as I play on PS4, and have no idea how to check something like that on the PS4

You can't really check it on the PS4, no. BUT...! If you have a PC, you can still check on there, since your IP address will be the same for your PC and PS4, given that they are on the same network. You don't have to have the game installed or anything to check.
You can open your Command Prompt, and type "tracert [server IP address]" and follow the traceroute from there.
You can find server IPs on this website. Just hit "Display IP" to see the IP addresses for each server.

Just some fun information in case you want to try it some time. :3

For your other game, I'm not sure where you would obtain the server IPs from, however. :x Unless they have a website similar to ARR Server Status.

It looks like it's PC players mostly from what my FC was saying.
