Sea of red dots

Is Aether data center going down? Everyone is red dotting and we had to abandon a Sophia party because no one could keep a connection. Even walking around the server you see red dots everywhere.

Playing on Cactuar and suddenly had a huge lag spike.
DC'd about 5 minutes after it started. Tried to get back in, was put in a queue, and then DC'd almost immediately after getting back in.

I think this may be just for players in the US, because one of the party members said they were playing from Canada and were fine. My friend I entered the dungeon with is playing from the UK and isn't having any lag.

I've been watching my internet speed and it doesn't seem to be that as I am having no connection issues. Logging into ESO now to see if they are having issues too or if this is merely a ffxiv issue

I just tried playing another game and had no troubles, so if this is an issue, which it is, then it appears to be isolated to Final Fantasy XIV.

yeah I am having no issues in ESO so it has to be a ffxiv thing. ddos attack perhaps?

I know I've tried logging into both Leviathan and Faerie. Met with login queues and I can only manage to stay connected for about 3-5 minutes before I get dc'd. It shows the dc symbol next to my name placard within a minute of logging in.
