Change Title - Macro Command

Example: Miner - "Provider of the Realm"
Example: Warrior - "Tempter of Fate"

I don't like having to change my title every time I change my gear set.

There are a lot of gamers in FFXIV that utilize a lot of classes each. I am working on leveling up all classes.

What about being able to create a macro that, not only changes your gear set, but adjusts your title as well?

It would be easy to update it too. So when you get new titles, you can just go update your gear set macro. SIMPLE!

I think this would be a time saver for those who play multiple classes and would also allow players to show off their many achievements to the community.

A more difficult approach would be to code a small interface that would allow a player to assign titles to gear sets. This could be accessed via the gear set menu when right clicking on the particular set. You could call it "Change set title".

I have been a player since the beta testing days and absolutely love this game.

Even better and simpler would be if clicking Update Gear Set saved your current title in addition to the gear and show/hide togglees.

Thanks for the response Rongway. Yes, even that would work. I like that idea very much. Players may get confused as to why their titles may get changed to another at first, but it may catch on.

I just feel there should be a way to do this. I have played many other games such as this, and they have this feature. FFXIV, IMO, has way more game to play due to its class system. As a result, there are tons of titles for one to earn. I think this feature should have been available from the start.

Seeing as how it is not, I think it would be an awesome candidate for a new addition.

The first once or twice, perhaps. In my head I'm picturing this on the same level as equipping a new gear piece, forgetting to hit save, and then wondering where your new hat went the next time you switch to that gearset -- it happens now and then, but people realize pretty quick that they just forgot to save after equipping.

And since gearsets are saved client-side, adding a title field to the data structure wouldn't cause any extra strain on the character data servers.

/titleroulette is a cool idea too. That would be nice to randomly select a title.

I still think having the ability to set a title to a gear set or having the ability to assign your title via macro would be very beneficial.

I have been gathering today. I have been switching from Miner to Leatherworker, back to Miner, then to Warrior to farm enemy drops, then to Weaver, and back. Sometimes I'll change my class and gear set maybe 20 times per session. I think we all would love having the ability to have our titles update to what we want them to be when we are doing the job we are currently engaged in.

It just makes sense.

I know this thread is very old, but I wanted to update it.

We now have the ability to do this using the "title" command.

/title set "God of War"

It is that simple. You obviously have to have earned the title before you can set it.

/title by itself will randomly select one of your earned titles as well.

Only took a couple years. LOL!!!
