    4.0 Casting Animations

    So i know they are getting rid of classes in 4.0 but what about the casting animations for mages? I was thinking that for those few new skills(ruin 3, tri-bind, fire/blizzard 4, holy and aero 3) i think tbey should do those for all castinv skills for each job respectively. Causese those casting animations are way cooler imo. What do you guys think?

    I'd like more different casting animation. Frankly, I dislike the normal casting animation on BLM(Fire, Blizzard etc/ Not FireIV) it looks like we're trying to swing an invisible sword. Also the normal standing position with your weapon unsheathed really annoys me. Why couldn't we get something like WHM. I know they tried to give em unique poses but man, no mage ever would bend their back for that long and cast like that without pulling 5 muscles or 6.

    Something like FFX's Seymours casting poses would be perfect for me. Though I reckon that would be too boring for most others.

    i just want a proper weapon and armor location, i hate it when i have staff or quiver clipping with my hair, same goes with bulky armor ugh

    Exactly my point, the class animations are just boring and really doesn't fit the casters imo. Exactly why i want the job animation casts as the normal casts.

    They are not removing Classes in 4.0. There is talk of removing existing classes for 5.0+ due to the massive undertaking involved.

    3.0+ all new jobs had no classes. This was verified for 4.0 as well at NA FanFest.

    In order for them to work on animations they would have to reduce the combat speed in order to make them look better.

    Would they really have to do that though? Cause fire/blizzard 4 have the same casting time as thunder 2 but they are diffrent casts so i don't think that would be the case. Same goes for ruin 3 having the same cast time of ruin 1 but ruin lookns way better. Think of it as glamour of sorts but will liven up casters animation instead of the same old boring thing.

    If I have to gaudily hover spin just to spam Stone spells, I don't think I'll be playing WHM much come 4.0.

    And it's fine for Holy. Just... not for tossing rock after rock. I like having some simple, mundane animations in there for the simple, mundane things in the rotation. I shouldn't have to M. Night Shyamalan earthbend just to meet some quota of animation "interestingness" or "job-ness" with no regard for (dare I say it in a fantasy game?) reasonableness.
