She will divebomb your heart until you love her.

All this thread has confirmed for is that XIV has one of the best casts of women in a game....ever
Seriously the fact that I can look at like 95% of the real answers here and go "Yeah I could agree with that" just goes to show just how strong and varied as fuck XIV's females are.
What a great cast.

The Child Minfilia(called Ascilia at that point) you see in 1.0 is actually in an echo vision of an event that played out around 10 years earlier around the time of the battle of Silvertear falls. She is actually 22 years old at the time when you actually meet her in your own timeline.

When 1.00 first came out if you started in U'ldah you had an unwritten MSQ to follow, that involved a little girl 8-10 who's father passes away. That little girl is Minfilia. You go through some lose quests with F'lhaminn to secure burial of the little girls father so he can find his way to the afterlife but it requires untold amounts of Gil to get a proper burial. They were really pushing the poverty line back then. They don't really define passage of time from when 1.00 FF14 came out and the Calamity struck so there is no way to establish how much Minfilia aged during the life of FF14 1.00 as the NPCs don't get updated with maturity.
Minfilia the little girl is orphaned in any case and F'lhaminn adopts her as it were. Thancred is there too and participates in the quest line to bury Minfilia's father with some plot where he knew something he died with. It has been years since I did this but the ARR echo in MSQ made me realize who Minfilia was and most of it came back to me.

So sad
Despite the fact I already killed Livia, I want to seek her out in the afterlife, and kill her again. RIP Noraxia. Forever my friend :'(
