What is the squadron good for?

I haven't really tried getting chemistry on my squadron members because I prefer to level all to 50 with just the standard comprehensive training sessions before retrying any 18 hour ones. That and if I'm doing my daily tasks, I'm often teleporting to Idyllshire to spend tomestones and only come back to Limsa to trade in gear for seals.

Given I don't know how to craft efficiently for life nor money despite having all at 60 from provisioning trade ins, being able to earn crafting scrips to use towards master books from Rowena's shop sounds like a good reason to put more time into getting chemistries.
