It doesn't solve the fact about Champion's Lance , while the crafter isn't being able to 100% success that item but the system allow it to, and if we over look the Ifrit's Harpoon & Canopus Guisarme then it the best lance out there with lvl 50 and can add materia
Shneibel has a very good point, say for example to further stress test the idea:
Me and a buddy have the materials to make a high end piece of gear. But we are fairly certain while we can craft the item that there is a very high chance it will break. So to completely eliminate that problem he puts the materials up for an Adventuring Leve, I accept the Leve and craft the item...it fails...I attempt again...fails....attempt again....success! Rinse and repeat and not only can you have 100% success on any synthesis but you can effectively inflate the markets with a mass production of high end gear. (yes, I know it would lower the prices but like a real economy you need to have a healthy "supply and demand" or the economy will crash and burn; See: Earth circa 2000 [lol])
Then the crafter must provide materials. If not, get in touch with the crafter and personally hand it to him.
Well, i see no exploit in the item not being completed. This because of 4 points:
1- The dude will be burning a leve allowance per leve.
2- The player won't receive the crafted item until someone actually complete it.
3- It might be following the local leve rules...a dodore doublet is said to be a r47 recipe (so would be at r45 leves) do only 40+ LTW would actually have access to this leve.
4- Leve results cannot HQ.
I do find this an extremely good idea. And if this worked, the next step would be farming leves, where you ask a certain amount of raw items obtained thru gathering or from common monsters and the dude receive a gil reward plus a leve xp bonus in the end.
IMO leves were an awesome idea in every single aspect if you look to them as interplayer business...just like the MW simulates a NPC vendor for interplayer deals, leves can easily do it to simulate quests for the same purpose.
It wasn't the point of who had the materials to begin with, it was the fact that the synthesis under the OP's suggestion would be no loss of materials while commissioned to craft under the Adventurer's Leve. That is the problem, hell who is to say I as a crafter couldn't just commission myself to craft high level gear and have 100% success all the time. If I am level 50 I don't care about exp anyway, I just want the profits, and profits with no chance of material loss is the best kind of profits in my eyes.
EDIT (New post as I was posting):
Well I am personally sitting on close to the max in leves...and I am sure most of the full time crafters are as well by now, so...they have 99 problems but leve count ain't one?
But the whole problem is that materials would HAVE TO HAVE A CHANCE TO BREAK in order for it to work, and with that people will stray from using this great suggestion sadly. That is just the nature of the beast.![]()

Materials out of thin air are bad idea though. Everything must be provided by the players.
What the OP is asking is, in principle, an adjustment to the menders Ward to allow crafting and materia melding requests on top of repairs. This could become really efficient if menders ward are indeed added to the upcoming search interface for MW.
I like the idea, but I see balancing issues, like others pointed.
Maybe a significant tax (50%?) could do, i-e the "requester" would pay about the AH price that the said item is worth (minus the "cost" of the provided material), while the crafter would only get a portion of this price (considering the absence of risk and the fact that material is provided);
I don't see the need to gain more exp than the craft would normally provide, or to consume a leve.

Yup it would work like this most likely, but it does make me wonder what kind of stress this would impose on the server with thousands of requests and crafts taking place per hour. The same way they keep you from doing the same with with Local Leves - the items aren't actually in your inventory, they can only be used through the 'Requested Items' buttons on the craft menu, just like Local Leves.
I'd really like to see something like this implemented. Crafters have been somewhat neglected since Yoshi took over.
I really don't think SE are capable of this anyway, so it's most likely never going to happen.
I actually think the better soultion would be, that players request an item and put the gil up instead of the items, this way its a simple trade and nothing has to be stored on the server, except the request and money.
Of course we can already request an item on a retainer but its extremely flawed, but this could be easily solved if they reworked the system, you could access the user interface for requested items from any retainer.

This thread and all others where this system has been suggested over and over again are full of win!
People can PL battle levels so I don't see a problem with making crafting the same.
Good idea and would like to see it in game but I doubt DE will do it. It would be too complicated for them.
