[PC] Unable to download patch files. [30413][25008][20495]

17 tries. I have tried 17 different times to get passed this ONE POINT, and your crappy launcher, once again, fails to EVER work properly! What is going on?! Could you address this already?! Tons of people are complaining! Stop marking them as solved! You've done nothing!

I sit at 13,615.71MB left ALL THE TIME!

Good luck...I have been working on this issue for days around the clock. And support, yea I had Blizzard take 6 hours once to get back to me and I was applaud, they gave me game time for the wait, but here, they won't even read it in 6 hours and when they get back to you, I bet days from now you have the same issue. Go to Reddit and see how many people have this issue it is insane.

Also you notice the launcher will not let you play while downloading, which shows you it is technology from a decade ago, Almost all launchers now let you begin play within a few minutes of downloading.

On the other hand you must remember this is a Japanese company so they might not be up to par with triple A gaming companies, so you really cannot blame them and have to give them a somewhat of leeway, they don't have the talent pool like in the states. So hang in there and don't quit just yet

Oh and InfinityLibrarian when you do get a hold of them they are going to ask you for your system info, there is no reason for it, for this type of error and I doubt they even know what they would be looking at but they will want it to waste your time.

Then they will say start the launcher as administrator, then change the compatibility mode, then they will have you delete the config file all of which will not work or reinstall game. Then the good part will start, they will want you to screw with your router and that won't work either, then they will say you need to call your ISP and have them make changes, which they will not. How do I know this well hundreds of posts on Reddit from people just like you...

In the end you will scratch your head and say wait a minute this never happened when I was playing (put game name here) Then it will hit you, think about where the games are made that work.

I had the exact same issues and wracked my brain for close to a month trying to fix it but I DID fix it. The issue is that your ISP is basically cutting you off when it gets to a certain file on the download. The reason for this is long and boring but basically since FFXIV file downloads are hosted through Akamai / APNIC which is P2P, your ISP thinks you're downloading something like a torrent.

In order to get around this, you'll need to use a VPN HOWEVER, and this is what I learned the hard way: MOST free VPN's are going to default to UDP and not TCP virtualization. So go get CyberGhost VPN (free) or TorGuard (paid) and make sure you go into the VPN client and change it from UDP to TCP. If you don't change it from UDP to TCP, your download will continue to fail.

The only ports you need to have open on your firewall are 80 and 443. Just make sure your launcher is closed before you start the VPN client.

So why do they use P2P. That is something a small company would use.
