Is it me, or has the FF15 exodus lead to a drastic drop in player quality?

Since FF15 was released a few days ago, which resulted in a large number of players switching games, I have noticed a drastic change in the PUGs I've gotten via the Duty finder for my daily roulettes. Not only are they considerably worse players in terms of skill and gear, but they are also abusive. The reason I've stuck with FF15 longer than other MMOs is the quality of the player base, mostly their attitudes. Even when things went terribly wrong before, we'd all take it fairly well. We didn't throw insults at each other. More likely whoever's fault it was (and don't think I'm imply it was always someone else), would apologize in one way or another. Personally, I'd rather it WAS my fault since I'm the only one whom I have control over.

Has this been anyone else's experience, or is it just me?

The servers (atleast mine) are absolute ghost towns, be it due to 15 or people just sick of logging in just to do beastmen dalies and roulettes after several years but as far as pugs/df go they are the same for me. I get 2 types of people, type A; the super elite know it all raiders who criticize every single person in the party for every single thing they do or dont do, and type B; the blizzard black mages whos entire rotations consist of blizzard and blizzard 3 on repeat, I have never gotten a middle ground.

The only effect I've seen from FFXV being out is slightly longer queue times - but still getting my usual mix of groups, rarely having interaction issues; player quality being what you can expect from roulettes: very variable. One run I'm paddling like mad to keep up, the next I'm pushing some slower teammates forward

Slower que times and less people on but same mix of players as before.

This has happened many many times with other titles, yeah being FFXV probably has the largest audience share but any big game title that will come out deep into a patch cycle will knock the population out. And it will keep happening.

In fact, my ARR raid queues were shorter than usual.

So then do you think I've just been having rotten luck? Or am I the problem? Have I somehow, despite better gear and more experiance, gotten so bad that I can't even recognise when it's my fault? That people calling me retarded and saying I need to go back to Runescape (a game I've never played) are right? That it really is me, the tank, in Lore/Script gear who has run the 50s dungeons time and time again and not the 50-something healer who isn't using her whole kit and is in Poetic gear?

No, just that my post-launch experience has been different compared to yours. As for the reasons? I don't know.

Selective memory, imo. You see others, you choose not to remember it. Imo posts like this showcase the mentality of the poster much better than the surroundings they're trying to describe.

People are going to play it for a little bit, but they're not going to stay there. It's not an MMO, it does not offer the same things. Two completely different games.
