As if. You have your melee classes doing their thing. WHY for the love of damnation, are you killing off a casters duty?
You can keep your silly combo dance. Why remove debuffs from casters? So that we can spam thunder, is that it? Let's spam Thunder and keep that stun up.

Not every class gets the same debuffs. Not every class has every debuff. You say that it is "tactical" to invite a Black Mage (or THM or w/e) -only- because it can cast debuffs, but it isn't tactical to invite x or y class because they can apply a specific debuff? If anything, they added more tactics in that regard.

It seems more like you want to be invited on your Black Mage (or THM) because you can cast every debuff, why not be invited because you are a good Black Mage (or THM) now that debuffs are divided for all classes?

To me, it seems more tactical now that you invite, for example only, an Archer to apply bind, or a Marauder to apply slow (I don't remember what classes get which debuffs).

That is a good point but I would feel better if they restricted these debuffs to the mages. It doesn't just have to be BLM. Bring in a whole bunch of jobs, all mages, that will bring a different debuff to the party. The problem with this is the fact that they MIGHT consider adding these spells at a later time. The quote is as clear as day...

Jobs like White Mage and Black Mage have their own focus (focuses being Healing and dealing massive damge). Take bard for example, it gets a TON of buffs because that is it's focus traditionally - buffing. I personally would prefer them to add a class down the road who's role is debuffing, as you mentioned in your other thread. Kind of like how Red Mage in FFXI had all of the tier 2 debuffs.
