While this is obviously a hot enough topic to continually pop up, I'd personally rather see SE completely remove repairs and durability from the game, instead of seeing more dev time wasted spent trying to help negligent/forgetful players with this issue.
It fails as a gil sink since patch 2.1 added gil to dungeon mobs specifically to counter the cost of repairing gear. I think removing gil from dungeon mobs would be a more effective gil sink at this point.
The absence of durability would not be a lore breaking/immersion ruining change for any reasonable person.
Less inventory slots filled with dark matters.
