    Gathering Job Idea: Carver

    Basically what the job would be is something akin to the Desynthesis skill. A passive skill that is taken on as a job.

    What it would do is allow players to carve things from enemies you kill(Think Monster Hunter!) as a way to get extra and sometimes exclusive monster mats. Depending on the enemy you won't be able to carve of course.. No carving people(that means Lalas too. Don't even think about it. No beastmen either)... Or carving Nidhogg because he disappears.

    A quick example: You kill the Neverreap boss, the Wakkwhatsit and carve scales or teeth from it before it disappears. Or you kill a bomb and carve off a finger. Players can only get 1 extra thing per monster.

    The level of the class decides a HQ carve or not. Like an i240 desynth skill, an i240 craft skill should guarantee a success and a HQ carve from say, a lv25 antelope.


    How can it be done?
    I was thinking of adding a knife item that players can put into the Off-Hand slot. I know PLDs have shields... so I'm thinking of a solution for that right now x_x. although it doesn't really neeeed to be stuck to an Off-Hand..

    Devs can increase the amount of time a body is left on the ground and make it go away immediately after using it. To prevent trolling/hoarding, enemies could be carved regardless of if you participated or not.
