Unable to download patch files [20512] [25008] [20495] PS4

I know that this has been posted quite a number of times even looked around and tried what was suggested, i even went as far as trying a wired connection still get this pop up and forced back to start. I dont want to delete the game to redownload what ive gotten so far or perform a system restore right after i just had to because my ps4 got corrupted. I just want to go back to playing it now that some close friends have started. I own the PC version but but it performs pretty bad. Please if anyone has a fix that will work please help me out any tech support members or players that have been able to fix the issue. I've honestly lost all my data once I dont want to add a game I've played and spent money on to the list of lost stuff.

I starting having this issue yesterday. I ended up deleting the content on my PS4 in order to reinstall.

Do not do this! Now my game wont patch past a 2014 patch, I've submitted a few customer service requests, no reply.

sadly im not much of a tech savvy person so trying to get a vpn on ps4 is just going to make things harder on me...... i dont even have a smartphone either so i guess im either SOL or SE finally decides to help fix the issue. i just really wish i wasnt screwed over like this, SE actually suspecting me of "suspicious activity" and ive been having enough issues without FF14 having to rob me of my money.... i just want to finally return to the game and enjoy it with my friends

KenshinHayate, if you're getting the same error codes that are in this thread then it's not really going to be up to Square-Enix to fix it I'm afraid. Take a look at the link Maero posted and you'll see why. I don't own a PS4 so I'm not sure how you would go about getting it setup behind a VPN but I'm sure there are guides out there on how to do it or you may want to ask Maero what was done to get theirs going. The problem is simply your ISP and there are ways around it but it will take a bit of effort to get it going.

Yes i am sorry to hear as i have been there twice now with this issue, first one being about 4 months ago and again recently.
I ended up using a paid VPN but just for the month as i normally do not have issues outside of downloading FF patches.
The link to the other thread i have indicated which one i used and they actually have a guide to help you set it up for PS4.
My download worked up until there was 4 gigs left and then gave me patch files (whatever numbers) failed, switched it from the recommended location it chose for me to a city closer, retried (thankfully it saved the previous 10 or so gigs downloaded) and finally was a success. Using a VPN does slow your connection speed down but at least it seems to work.
Your ISP must be thinking it is downloading bit torrents and may be blocking it because of that.

well stupidly enough i tried updating again after the new update patch was installed.... to no surprise the patch still failed, hopefully if i recall right i can try getting the patch at another person's house (dont remember if that was a trick)? but gosh darn it Square Enix why you no fix this? it's gonna make me even more sad if i cant get this fixed before the new expansion still got much to do and if i wont be able to get the patches right now then there isnt going to be a point in buying an expansion for a game i cant even play anymore.... PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF EORZEA FIX THIS ISSUE!!! .....please? until then ill just have to go spend time with other games while trying to get things working....

I just tried going to my friend's place to try and get the patch but i still got the error at the same point and we both have different isps, im almost to the point of asking for a refund on my subscription since i cant even get past the patching after i was forced to wipe my hdd.... Square, come on fix this issue please.... either that or give me a refund till i can get a clear indication that this has fixed for everyone, i really just want to come back to FF14 after finally getting some time to play....

I don't understand why SE can't make a decent patch downloader. Every time I restart my download no progress is saved and I need to start over from the very beginning. This is especially problematic in light of the "Unable to download patch files" error. Makes me want to cancel my subscription, to be honest. SE neds to fix this issue ASAP.

yeah, i was at 1/3 of the patching done but thanks to Square Enix's smart move on deleting the game im back stuck at the start of the patching where it fails, not even a third of where i was. i have friends that play this even a friend at work that, now laughs at me because i cant even play, doesnt even help that in order to even get the patch at all i need to have a subscription first. Im going to try and call the support but if i get "its the provider" i can say its not the issue since it stopped at the same point. i had my hdd wiped so there is no issue of space, i tried everything i've seen and i still cant get the patches. i shouldnt even need to toss a on vpn or do port forwarding and changing ip addresses or even going to use another internet connection none of which worked in order to even get the game playable. this is pretty much stealing everyones who is having this issue's money.
