A few questions about FC's.

Hello, I was wondering about something, so here I am.
Me and my friend have been playing for a month or two, and we have started our search for a free company (we are on EU server btw), leveling our characters, almost have 3 level 60 job's each.

First FC we joined, disbanded after a couple of week. Second one we joined hardly ever had anyone online & we didn't really play together.

We have joined our 3rd one & we have seen 2 people online all day, seeing total of 4 people online at one time, that is including me & my friend.
We are used to being apart of an active and inclusive community in the game we come from & we are wondering is this normal for FFXIV, or have we been very unlucky with our picks of FC's?

We are looking for an active FC, with 10-20 people online during prime time, we don't come from this game so we are wondering if this is something that is achievable or if we just asking for to much?

We would be willing to transfer servers for a FC (EU)

with the recent release of FFXV, christmas coming up and people not playing due to new patch coming after christmas sometime, the playerbase has shrunk a fair bit.

I don't know any FC's on Odin but we have some nice active ones on Ragnarok.

Have you tried doing a Party finder looking for a nice active free company? can work sometimes

Pretty much this - the population tends to shrink a bit mid-way through a patch cycle since players can often get bored.

Getting a free company depends on what you're really looking for from the game to be honest (whether you're looking to do endgame or generally be social). A PF advert would definitely not do you any harm nor will speaking with any players you may have met outside your normal social circle in-game (say, fun players you meet in the DF).

It may even be worth considering starting your own up if you have 4 players willing to do so, and try and start things/recruit friendly players from there. Me and a number of players did that way back when and have been close R/L friends ever since.

Just bad time of the year. FFXV took a lot of players temporarily and with the Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years holidays upon us lot of people are busy with family/freinds for holiday events.

There are a few very active FCs on Jenova as well.

The FC im in Section 9 (Sct9) is on Odin, usually has 10+ online during prime time and many daily active players.

You could also search for an active linkshell? My FC is pretty small but I'm in several linkshells so I always have people to do fun stuff with even if it's one of those quiet days in the FC. Good luck to ya! <3

Most FCs are that way. I had to try upwards of a dozen before I found one that wasn't. Try Linkshells as they're where people congregate to socialize. FCs are more for established groups of friends.

That's pretty normal for a guild (FC) in an MMO. It's easy to start a guild but if no one is maintaining it, it will fall apart. Guilds fold every day and new ones are formed. MMOs have a terrible retention rate in the long run.

The FC I am in is pretty much dead, before it was one of the top on the server. I think most of them know one another 'in real life, I think they are/were in Uni or something. They had a fall out and half of them left. The leader doesn't log in now since raiding has finished. It'll probably be dead in Stormblood.

Circle of life.

Moral of the story. Find an established guild with officers etc that still actively play.

I usually had the best luck finding FCs by asking around in good party finder farms I joined. See how they act while actually running things and ask after you know if they're chill or not.
