Motivation for raiding

Unfortunately Quigg, world PF won't change things except for the hard core raiders. They will have less of a wait time for groups while an equal amount of mid level and newer player cross server counts just increase equally. Result: they still won't progress.

I'm an older player, and I find the high levels of play demanded in raids difficult. Not impossible - I cleared a lot of Coils and very much enjoyed it. But I raided with a group of friends who understand that it takes me several runs to learn a fight (and also that there are some mechanics I'm probably never going to master, like divebombs in T9, because at my advanced age I just don't have the reaction time. If I ever managed them flawlessly, it was a sheer fluke, I promise. But T5 and T9 were both fun, if frustrating, because I had a group of supportive folks with me who never made me feel like I was holding us back. Sadly we mostly quit about 12 months ago, most are back recently, but not interested in raiding because Alex is nowhere near Coil story wise, and we have encountered too many selfish and rude people who start ranting as soon as they realise there's someone new to the fight there. Doesn't make anyone want to go out and rush to sign up to PF Groups. I'm sure there are many lovely, kind, decent hard-raiders out there, but sadly I never encountered any of them. So I'll stick to levelling different things, doing MSQ, AAand redorating my apartment ....

I just frankly don't find memorization battles fun.

I prefer PotD(especially if they ever run objectives) the journey to 200 as a party of 3 is a tough journey.

I'd like more randomized battles where I have to react rather than check off my memory checklist.

First to Besame that may or may not be true. I and a few others are in the belief of helping others learn content will increase the overall skill level and help develop the community as a whole. With that in mind I jump into learning groups a couple times a week for savage and a often for primals. I help teach the fights (others do this too) and offer everyone a chance to jump on disco and listen to the call outs. When all world PFs come out I plan on putting up learning PFs to help people clear the content or simply try it out. You and everyone else that are interested are welcome. Ultros created the original beginners hall and many of us carry the torch.

At Elladie that is no problem I play with a few much older friends and we work on content too. There is nothing wrong with dying a few times learn what you can and go from there.

I'll make LFG threads occasionally but I've a preference to stay in on this NA server yet also not wish to endure an early am raid time, not driven enough to make my own group and will just play other objectives like anima weapons and mentor roulette for now. Sometimes I substitute in my old SCoB group, managed to see most of the fights.

Same experience as an older player Elladie but I was run through all of coils except for the very last one in an evening so fast that I barely recall it hehe. I didn't die so I guess I was lucky, I just held my breath, paid attention and relied on 16 yrs of raid experience in other games to get me through lol.

I'll be lookin' for ya Mer! Not really but nice thought. It would take me being bound and gagged to do a pug run of anything except VA and POTD after what I have seen. If I really need something my small FC of 11 that is closed to recruiting to keep out jerks will run me through. Unfortunately as a pc user I found Discord to be buggy and unstable for me so I uninstalled it. I use TS, vent, Mumble..NO Discord

For sure! I will help out where I can. I have heard that discord has had issues, but my friends were able to fix them. If you are interested I can find out what they did to fix it and let you know. Discord imo is a better voip, I use it to put up guides, builds and rotations. I am going to try and teach what I can, there is another thread that is putting together groups to try raiding and do primals together once the All world PF is online. I will find the thread, brb.

ok tyvm! My FC got me my first pony the other day dragging me into an EX primal, I was so excited hehe. Only been playing about 9 months so I still need plenty of info thrown at me because I have shyed away from ANY pugs now. I think at IL 258 I am g2g for most any run now hopefully. Appreciate it.
