What Server to Transfer to? Any open populated ones?

Hi guys, having an issue choosing a server.

I am on jenova with 3 friends, we all want to transfer together as Jenova seems pretty dead.

What servers are you all playing on? Are they pretty full?

I was planning on trying for Gilgamesh as I heard it was very full, but our issue is that our friend is going to start playing and you currently can't make a character on it, so we can't very well meet up with him there.

Any insight?

I'm on Faerie, which is pretty populated. That said, I am personally seeking to leave the realm and I have my own post in these forums seeking a new place to be. I am not leaving because I dislike the server. I am seeking to leave because my friends have long now left playing. I'd like a few new adventures in hopes of finding a renewed vigor to keep playing. I'd recommend Faeire to a new person as it stays reasonable active. I wish you luck on your search as I am on the same search myself.

I know Adamantoise has a decent population and we have a bit of a raid scene too (mostly ad-hoc).

I do ask, for the community, PLEASE not Balmung or Gilga. They are sucking the other servers dry and killing us.

I recommend transferring based on either an FC or static that you've alted with, just so that you know there's something there that you like. Blind leaps are a waste of money.

I don't recommend a blind jump to Gilgamesh especially due to the size and/or raiding. If you're new and coming from a server without too much going on, you might be surprised. I moved from Cactuar where I was easily one of the better healers around to Behemoth where almost everyone I know is better than me.

Malboro's a fairly populated server. It's admittedly also a pretty relaxed one, but I've ran into a few people that transferred over from other servers apparently and they said they preferred it to their old ones! Admittedly Malboro is a pretty relaxed and casual server, but if that's appealing to you, drop on by!

I don't have the link right now as I am on mobile, but there is an inofficial census floating around somewhere. Just use the search function to find it, a new one just came out. It basically shows a list of all servers based on how many people finished the current MSQ and how many people finished raids. So if you are looking for a server with an active endgame community, go for a server high up in that list. Depending on if you guys like raiding or not, adjust based on that

This may sound rude, but to me, servers like Faerie feel dead. Hardly anyone is around and the PF is so empty. I'm used to bustling towns and shout matches and 40+ entries in PF in the evening. But to some, that may seem overwhelming, so a mid-sized server may be more to their liking

I'm on Couerl right now (transferred from Mateus, and previously played on Balmung) and pretty happy with our choice. We wanted a place that had a mobile economy (so we could save up money) but wasn't so crowded that getting a house would be impossible. Now, I have yet to experience its end-game community, but so far it's been a good server for us.
