Let us assume they will re-introduce debuffs/enfeebles in 2.0

I will be optimistic for once and assume they will not simplify the game even further. I will assume that they are still in the rebuilding process and this is just one step in to the direction of their vision.

Let's suggest some jobs and how they could be implemented.

    TIME MAGE
Haste, Stop, Slow, Gravity, Comet, Quick, Reflect, Float, Oil, Regen and some passives...
    AND Level # spells!
I think it would work with this game. Comet would be the only non-elemental spell in the game and it would work with the scaling properties that have been proposed.

Spells like float would be awesome reactionary spells that would counter dangerous spells such as Quake.

Quick would give a party member TP so he can do his thing.

Reflect would be another reactionary skill to prevent your target from being nuked by any non ancient spell (including cure).

Oil might not work since it would only benefit Fire but I thought I would just mention it.

Level # spells, if you're not familiar with them, basically damage enemy if their level is a multiplier of the spell. For example: A level 5 flare would inflict damage on any monster that is level 10-15-20-25 etc...(mutiples of 5).

Anyway, I am trying to come to terms with the changes since they will come no matter what. If they are going to simplify the game, then so be it. At least let us immerse ourselves in a game that feels like Final Fantasy. Bring as many jobs in to the game as possible. Make sure we need multiple jobs leveled up as prerequisites to earning these jobs. Nothing insane of course.

They've already mentioned more than a few times that after the game is stable, post 2.0 release, they're going to start creating new caster jobs to balance the DoW/M ratio. I would assume they're thinking of maybe putting Arcanist in? Don't know what its identity would be, though, it's sort of a customs officer in the lore atm.

As such, I don't think Time Mage is a stretch, neither are jobs that are similar to Geomancer, Mystic, Blue Mage, and, of course, Summoner.

FF13 had something similar - Imperil - but it worked for all elements rather than just fire. Which I think is already in FF14 (I vaguely recall an imp inflicting me with it at some point), so that could probably be used instead of Oil.
