    Housing Question Airship binding

    **Confirmed**

I was able to find a friend that was online who is a leader of their FC (shockingly people online during the morning)
I confirmed that you can switch Free companies, and characters, and plots and still retain use of the airship part.

I place the part into their airship, and closed out the window, then took the part back after re-opening the menu.

Entirely different free company, and obviously different plot. So the "binding" only means "market board prohibited." Not like gear items that bind to the player.

Can anyone *confirm* what airship parts such as "Bronco Type Hull" gets "binded" to?

The player, specifically the free company, the plot/house or what?

I own my own personal free company and FC house, and all the crafted airship parts. I'm deciding if its worth subscribing every 45 days to keep it. Not trying to steal from "my free company" as its only me and my alts in my personal FC....

If its the FC, so long as only me and my alts are the only people in the FC, if i dont sign in for say 4 years when the level cap is 99 or what have you, my FC will stay mine. Just maybe an alt will end up as the master, which is easy to fix. Right?

They just get bound after they are used. You can still take them and put them in the Free Company chest for another character to take. If the parts are in your inventory and you leave a Free Company, the parts go with you. If you join another Free Company and you still have the parts in your inventory, you can use them with the new Free Company's airships. Basically, the parts are just 'bound', but, not specifically bound to the player, Free Company, or plot.

So the "binding" just prevents them from being sold on the Market Board, has nothing to do with their use?

Like, as you said, i can lose the house, and when i get another (if thats a possibility) i can reuse them again?

Cause i have 9 Airship parts, and all that crafting was insane to just later on find out i cant reuse them just because i gave up my house..

    Thanks in advance

The binding just prevents the parts from being directly traded or resold on the market board. If you leave/lose the Free company house and the parts are in your inventory, you should be able to reuse them again.

While I think the other answers are right about the airship parts, I'm not sure this part is right. I know if the master of the FC doesn't sign in for a while (forget the duration, 30 days maybe) they lose leadership and it goes to another member. But if its all your alts and you didn't sign in with any of them, you'd eventually end up with an FC with nobody as master, and I thought it gets disbanded at that point.

I'm not sure if the FC ever disbands itself automatically, but not signing in for that long will cause you to lose the house and the airship parts. Auto-demolition will destroy the house if no one in the FC enters it for 45 days and it will take any airships with it. Go here for details on auto-demolition.

I know about house demolition. That wasn't my issue. I replied specifically to one point only, where he said "if i dont sign in for say 4 years ... my FC will stay mine". I'm not so sure that's the case. If it's all his alts and he isn't online with any of them for years, the FC would be left with no master. Can a Free Company even exist without a nominal leader?

(And yeah, sorry it's a little off topic for this thread, but that statement brought the question to mind, and since I have a private FC too, I'm interested in knowing how that works.)

With long term absence: The house will be lost. Airship parts would be lost if left in the workshop, but can be retained by moving them to your inventory before leaving. (And the same goes for anything else in the house that you're allowed to remove without destroying it.) But I don't know about the FC itself.

Just checked as I have an alt on another server that I haven't logged into it in 6+ months (probably more like 12+ months!) and the last time I logged him out he was the only person in a Free Company (as the leader). Having just logged in it looks like that's still the same and he's still the leader.

I've seen other threads before about FCs not disbanding and people wanting them to auto disband so they could have the name (and they usually they get shot down pretty fast for asking that), so it looks safe to say the FC will never disband unless a player with permissions does it.

I remember reading a thread a while back about a person who was inactive in an already inactive FC and it ended up with no leaders (but the FC still existing), but I can't find when that was and it might have been fixed a long time ago and/or was a one-off bug as never heard anyone say about that since.

Thanks. That's good to know. I'm not planning on any prolonged absences, but it's good to know what is and isn't safe if I ever do. I'm glad the FC seems to fall into the "safe" category.
