    Latest Lodestone Census -- 3.4 MSQ, The Creator (Savage) clear rates

    3.4 MSQ completion:

    Quick notes:
    1. Based on lodestone parsing for the Moenbryda minion.
    2. ~190k 3.4 cleared players. JP servers lead again with 90k. NA and EU combine for around the same.
    3. Roughly a 35% drop off from 3.3's MSQ clear count and a 50% overall drop off from 3.0's clear count. As per usual, this number is currently rather low and will rebound with a bit more time just like 3.3's numbers did with this census.

    As always, NA clear %s lag behind JP servers and shows a clear difference in how we consume content.

    Quick notes:
    1. Based on the possession of the A12S mount so numbers will generally be lower than reality.
    2. JP servers still demolish NA servers with their top raiding server almost having more clears than all NA and EU servers combined.
    3. Clear %s 2 months after patch 3.4 have already surpassed Midas clear rates from 5 months after patch 3.2 for most servers (Midas clear rates snap shotted on 8/11 http://livedoor.blogimg.jp/luckybanc...c/ac6dbb99.png).

    Well... thats what you mostly see when looking at a JRPG grinder...
    Japan players like that heavy grinding!
    It will share the same fate: players will play for about a year and the switch game.
    At least, thats what i see with many JRPGames.

    And if this census is correct, you've got another 185,094 people to ask.

    Or, if you'd rather do it statistically, you'd still need to ask ~12,000 people to get a relatively good sample size with an acceptable margin of error.
    500 is just too small a sample to have any meaning, especially if the sample is biased. I'm betting you only asked people you already knew on a single server.

    FFXIV is more of a western style MMO... there really isn't much of a JMMORPG gaming genre.

    It also isn't particularly grindy -- especially for raiders who are clearing A12S.
