Arcanist, the next THM?

Arcanist and musketeer are the next classes to come out. Just a thought on where the THM drains and dark magic went.

they are not the next classes to come out.
they said they will be focusing on another mage class but that the next two classes will be summoner and beast master at the start of 2.0
they even said they are currently laying the foundation of said pet classes.

I'd be surprised if Arcanist wasn't coming anytime soon. They recently added distinctions for ACN weapons and started scripting it's quests in multiple languages; they're not that far on any of the other classes yet.

you really never read about beast master and summoner?

well google didnt help out, idk, it was in like two or three interviews when asked about pet classes. they mentioned both summoner and beast master more than once.

We call tell you that we’ve decided to put a Summoner class in the game. I want to be a Summoner..... (GE Asks about BST) Yes. The foundation or system for using pets in battle is currently being made. So yes in the future there will be a beast tamer type of class. Again, it’s all about that adding one class means adding more jobs and all these extra things. So all these jobs won’t come at the same time. It’s all about the priorities, but it is on the list and we are making preparations for it. Like one idea could be for example maybe having a beast tamer class and that job would be like a summoner type of job.

so theyre thinking of making BST the class and SMN the job? thats a horrible idea

beast tamers are not magical. Summoners are nothing but magic, how in the hell do they coincide at all?

That's not so ridiculous IMHO. You learn to summon and control field monsters... and then when you get really good at it, you stumble across a quest in which you summon and control your first MYTHICAL monster - and go from there.

It would certainly give the main pet class more options; it'd be able to choose whether it wanted to rely on HP/TP or MP, for one.

It would also leave the door open for Ranger to, instead of summoning and controlling multiple pets, have ONE pet (possibly chosen from multiple options) that grew with the player. It's all about where to spread it thinner and where to keep it thick.
