    Hall of the Novice suggestions

    I've been leveling a new character and noticed a few things that could be improved with this system.
    1. Change the system from being entirely optional to a dialog box allowing players to skip all tutorials, then make Sastasha unavailable unless the player a) skips the tutorial, or b) completes all exercises. The reasoning for this is I've noticed many new players are unaware there's more than one exercise, or don't read the quest and charge forth to Sastasha without doing the exercises, the dialog box will make sure the player knows he is skipping all exercises and rewards.
    2. Improve early text so players know there's a 30% exp ring at the end of the exercises, this will motivate new players to finish all exercises, at the moment a new player will see the tutorial as pointless as it doesn't show what rewards you can obtain.
    3. Improve NPC text to remove any embellishments, like pirate slang coming from the Roegadyn tank trainer, this is a tutorial and text should be as neutral as possible so players understand the gameplay elements being explained.

    One idea I have is they should have an old raid boss to test the player how ready they are for raiding. For example they should have Bahamut Prime from Final Coil. The game would have 7 AI controlled characters that always preform their job perfectly. Then you must play your role to clear the fight.

    While I agree that this would be an amazing addition to the game and would make the novice hall a bit less boring, my question is, have you looked at the npc's in any story line/class/job or even in the novice hall it selves? None of them dodges, none of them uses cool downs or any of their skills besides flash and cure on the tank/healer. After that it's pretty much auto attack. That would teach, and it already does, new players how to stand in everything and pray that the healer keeps them alive, while the healer struggles with the adds. I don't think it would be easy to actual script the fight the way it was intended, when trying to clear it. That would mean you need the npc's to actually play their job perfectly as you mentioned, (dps checks included, tank lbs etc) as well as dodge or moving the boss to a specific location. And then there's always the problem that not only one method applies to some fights. You can clear encounters in many different ways, depending on your setup/gear/experience etc. Doubt that SE would have the time/resources to make something that sounds rather "simple" to us, available to players at level 15. Another problem I see with this, would be if the player is unable to beat the encounter, since it's not a part of the MSQ, just skip it as many already do and move on with their life.

    Even though i have all lvl 60 i would love to play through this on the different jobs. Unfortunately not being able to skip the endless texts is so annoying to me.

    I have to read Limsa Lominsa dialogue out loud to actually understand any of it. It was my starting area but I skipped most of the cutscenes there as a sprout. It's still my favorite area visual-wise but I can't imagine how challenging that kind of accent and slang would be a for a ESL player or someone with reading issues to understand. The ye olde English in other areas can be obscure too ("i will return anon") but that's way easier to look up.
