So a few days of casual grinding through dungeons, fates, challenges, PotD, turn-ins, etc is too slow?As the title says, leveling up alternative jobs on a single character is an absolute slog. It takes, in my opinion, way too long, even with the armory bonus and FC bonus.
I'd like to propose the ability to purchase some sort of XP boost, whether it be in the form of a potion, a piece of gear, etc, which gives a substantial increase in EXP gained.
My hopes are that if this change were implemented, the highly repetitive and monotonous process of leveling would be cut down dramatically because you could more easily shift to different types of content as your levels increase at a higher rate (I'm looking at you, non-stop Vault runs from 57-59).
Pro DPS tactic: Big glowing orange AOE = "Stand here to boost your DPS!"

While I am in no way a fan of going from godslayer to mouse-fighter every time I switch over to learning a new job (granted, it's been damn long time since everything hit 60), I feel like the actual time required to level a slew of different jobs is about right.
Exactly the audience SE would profit off from jump potions![]()

How can you want something that takes maybe 20 hours tops to be made even shorter? There's gotta be some standards!

Pretty much. My thing is, the leveling isn't SLOW, it's the fact that it's boring by now.
I'm sure that's how OP feels too, when you're leveling yet another job the 5th+ time you
get tired of it. If you really try you can get to 60 in about...2-3 days? My friend told me
he went from DRG 30 to 60 in 2 days by pure POTD 1-10 runs. Is it boring? Yes, but
it can save you repair time, buying gear, wait times and more...or do watch Netflix and do FATES or do dungeons....
Or wait the eventual Level Potion. I'd recommend POTD since even in Balmung, it's hard to come by people at FATES anymore
even in higher levels, everyone jumped the POTD wagon.
I mean pick your poison. No rush since 3.5 ain't till mid Jan anyways...

This is pretty much it for me. I have every combat job at 60 except for healers (missing WHM/AST) on my main character, and my alt is level 60 warrior and monk.
At this point it's just insanely boring to level yet another job through whatever is The Most Efficient™ method no matter how "fast" it is. It's even worse when you do it some other way that takes an incredible amount of time longer because you're just drawing out the torture willingly then.

My life while tanking is an existential hell from which there is no escape.

Why are people complaining about how long it takes to level up your other jobs. Your playing an MMORPG and a Final Fantasy game to boot. Final Fantasy is known for the exp grinding you have to do when levelling.
Now let's be real now the main reason way people don't want a Level jump potion is because it would be unfair to all the people that put in the time an effort to get all there jobs to level 60. That's the only reason why people don't want it.
Now if it was a exp ring that gave you a little bit extra exp that would be cool like they had in FF11 but even that had a limit to it. I think it had like a timer on it or something and once you had use it all up you had to wait for the time to reset before you can use it again.
Ether way, what ever SE decide to do the should be a limit to it. It's not about everything in this game being change to make life easy for people who keep complaining.

people leveled DRK/MCH/AST 30-60 in 1 day, when HW was released; why should it be faster?
this game doesn't even remotely need an XP boost option.
