Game crashes on initial loading screen

I was in foundation, accepted two leves, teleported to Coerthas Western Highlands, and the game crashed on the loading screen. (FFXIV has stopped working) Now whenever I launch the game and select my character, it crashes on the loading screen every time. This happens in DX9 and 11.

update: Attempted to log into the character on two different machines, each time I managed to log into western highlands and teleport away, but if I teleport back to the western highlands the game crashes and the problem starts over. It's something about western highlands. I already discarded the two temple leves I accepted, and I still crashed.

update 2: tested all zones, teleporting to or zoning into Coerthas Western Highlands causes the crash. I think it's the installation, but since I've never been able to fix the patcher bug that occurs at specific download parts even with VPNs, I need to wait until I can get a friend to upload their working install to test it.
