    Disable Auto-face Target for heals/buffs

    Currently you have two options:
    • Always automatically face your target
    • Never automatically face your target

Both of these options are bad.

If you are a healer, automatically turning to face your target can cause wipes when you need to face a certain direction for mechanics, or when an instant heal causes you to suddenly rotate 180 degrees while running out of an attack. The same goes for playing a Summoner who suddenly spins around because they tried to use Rouse/Spur on their pet. There's no reason you should ever need to face your target when doing a heal, because the game doesn't require you to be facing friendly targets to perform friendly actions.

Likewise, you should always turn to face a target when you perform an attack that requires you to face the target. Trying to DPS with auto-facing disabled is a complete nightmare, especially for melee who frequently run through an enemy's hitbox to dodge attacks or to hit positionals.

The solutions is simple. Set the default behavior to:

Automatically face targets when facing is required (attacks)
Do not automatically face targets when facing is not required (buffs)

Or, at very least, provide the option to disable auto-facing targets on friendly spells but not attacks.

I do not play summoner so i couldnt really help with that one, but for job changes, i turned those buttons into macros like the one below. This is my whm one, using gearset 3, hud layout 3 which is my healer hud, turn off autoface, and then sort my armor chest and bags for good measure. A macro for ever class may seem like overkill, but it can be really helpful when you bounce between roles often

    /macroicon 3 gearset
    /gearset change 3
    /hudlayout 3
    /autofacetarget off
    /wait .5
    /isort condition armoury ilv des
    /isort execute armoury

You could set auto-facing based on the job you're using with a job change macro as Edewen suggests, or write a macro to set defaults based on the role.

In addition, on healer and with auto-face target off, you can macro offensive spells to include the /facetarget command. This way you will turn when it's required, and won't when it's not. It's not as simple as a configuration option, but it works.
