Are Allied Quests required to get Beast Tribe mounts?

I'm currently doing Ixali quests to help level up my DoHs jobs. I hope to pick up the Direwolf, but I'm not sure if I have to complete the main quests of all the other ARR Beast Tribes in order to get it. I know that an eye-piece and some extra minions are rewarded for doing the Allied Quests, but I don't really care for those. Just the wolf mount would be enough

No, you can do just the single beast tribe's quests to get its mount.

Each beast tribe offers their mount at: Arr (Rank 4) or HW (Rank 7). The Allied quest is just a bonus quest line that gives a unique mask reward and changes the ARR beast tribes from Rank 4 to Rank 8 as a conclusion beast tribe reputation.

Almost right, except for Ixal. Each tribe offers it at their max rank. For Ixal, that's rank 7. For other ARR beast tribes, it's rank 4. Then I believe the Heavensward ones are all rank 7.
